Colin Ferns? Who he?
He is the Fortnum and Masons of Merc Indies, caters mostly to the Pagoda crowd sans Richmond.

He did a few things on my mushroom soup 129 when I got it and performed an open wallet bypass procedure on me, good but expensive. I think the vendor got off fairly lightly.

I sold my 124 to my "man" recently when it, whilst still functioning, hit up against a circa £10k bill to get it "right"

Got the C63 for not much more than that thing was going to cost.

Go figure
Ah, so Richmond inflation.

This guy always seems to present lovely motors.

Any old Merc would swallow a five-figure bill if one so wished. I've never heard of Colin Thingy but it sounds as though his charging reflects the pockets of the local owners.
There are places around the country where you see old barges that you just know have been bought new and been ‘the car’ for 20yerars. There aren’t that many these days, but they do exist. There was a blue Sclass 140? On here a few months ago being flogged from a central London posh post code.

Another Woody wonder! That’s a proper advert, the seller comes across as businesslike and thorough (well broker rather than vendor). Description a bit verbose for my liking but better that than some waffle about how the model was invented and how it will feel with the wind in your locks and similar carp.
I am definitely not in the market for a 5-10k beemer but that looks lovely to me.
No idea on the pricing, doesn’t strike me as a bargain but for something that looks that good with a history and sensible miles for the age I doubt it will hang about.
I’m a bit surprised what seems like a half decent dealer is on eBay but maybe that works for them.

I've dealt with Cotswolds Car Broker before, he's a straight up guy from what I could tell. Very low pressure sales.

From what I could tell he owns a storage facility for people's car collections and when they want to sell them he charges them like £500 for him to take pics and manage the sale.

Are Corvettes associated with noncery? Or do you have information on a previous owner of this particular one? confused

biglaugh

I associate them more with people who wear Letterman jackets, sport rockabilly haircuts and call petrol "gas" despite being born and raised in Milton Keynes.

A C3 or C4 Corvette is definitely an itch I want to scratch... Assuming I can find one which doesn't have a rusty birdcage and isn't a king's ransom (with said king being Elvis, natch).

ETA I also like country musichehe

Really? I associate them with kind of Essex/Norfolk folk who are nice people, not dumb, but can't spell.

For me wrong'un cars are:
RS3
Golf R
M140i
Nissan GT-R
Range Rover Sport 4.2 Supercharged
Mercedes C63 6.3L
BMW M4 (specifically with a matte wrap)

Ha, I always assumed he had a Caterham or similar for that username. Must have missed the yank love.

I also think it's the sheer damn weight of the LS460 that is the reason it gets through control arms so quickly.

I have shopped around and it does seem the OEM ones are still the way to go, but I'll find a specialist to fit them.

Cleaned up the front headlights today: before/after

New grill arrives tomorrow which I hope fixes the front radar issue. Not that it's causing me any inconvenience but I'm a bit OCD about warning lights.
You said that it would be too big hehe

Congrats on a purchase.

I would just replace the needed bushes rather than all in. The suspension seems very similar to X351 imo.

I did, but for £1,490 I'll just use the remaining budget to take a taxi in to town biggrin

What does size matter when it will park itself?

(I've always wondered if anyone actually uses autopark regularly, rather than just as a party trick?)

Na it's a party trick, by the time you've used the old school touch screen to press the arrows and get the space highlighted in the correct position you could've had 3 attempts at parking it already.

So is the fridge tbh, it's cooled by the aircon system which just isn't enough to actually make your drinks cold.

It's not just me then. hehe

The only times I've used it have just been for novelty, and never with any traffic. The good thing about the Lexus one is that it is a little more assertive than the Mercedes system, which I liken to asking a nervous driver with no confidence to park your car and then screaming "PARK YOU bh!!!" in their ear the whole time.

With the fridge... Have you got the SE-L spec then?

I think every car in the UK is SE-L

The fridge in my W221 S Class was a proper independently cooled compressor fridge, and it chilled the contents very quickly. I thought it was a gimmick but it was brilliant in a family car.

These half arsed peltier cooled boxes and the like are a waste of space though I think.

Looks like the majority were, but still a small number. We're a rare bunch.

I've seen some for sale claiming to be SE-L, but aren't. My doorjamb or door (can't remember which) has a sticker showing the trim, presumably the other trim levels also have this.

ETA this explains the different specs: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-4th-gen-2007-2...
