Sorry, five50, been on holiday and have only just seen this.On the rear axle I've gone from Tarox discs with Carbotech XP8 pads to OEM discs and Life110 pads. Without doubt the former setup performs better. However, the difference isn't massive and there is zero squeal on the road! So basically I achieved what I set out to - excellent
What I would say though is that I have suffered some 'grumbling' from the brakes and I can only really put this down to the rears as the front setup has stayed unchanged for over 18 months. It wasn't awful, just slightly disconcerting, although they did seem to continue to work. I've just done a second day with the setup and again they performed well with some more grumbling/judder. In fact, the car flew around Anglesey but that had more to do with the AST coilovers which are quite simply superb.
I did message Mr Pook after the first day and he suggested trying the Tarox discs with his pads, which I will probably do later this month. I have Spa booked for the 1st of July and would like to try this combo out before then. The OEM discs are pretty soft but I wanted to try them again as they are quite a bit lighter than the Tarox. Ideally I'd try a different lightweight rear disc but I'm not aware of one available (at least in this country)

Try Paul or Anneliese at Wortec (not always quick to reply, but be persistent). Their floating discs are c.2kg lighter per disc than EOM. I have them on my S.Spokeyblokey said:

Following my last track day at Anglesey on Monday I've noticed that my front pads (Carbotech XP8) are getting low. They probably have another 1 or 2 days left in them but I'm off to Spa in a few weeks and don't want to risk it, so new pads ordered. That then got me thinking - do I keep using the Tarox discs or use this opportunity to swap to something better and lighter? Well, I think it's time to swap, but what for?
Girodisc - 320mm. Fit front only. Seem decent enough and there are a few people tracking with them. Life110 sell them but I don't think David has them on his car.
Mosa Frein - AP Racing 320mm. Front only. Always impressed with AP stuff but it is more pricey and I'm not yet sure what they would cost with import duty etc. I also think the pad needs to be machined down a tiny amount and I can't see me being able to get that done easily. I think these are also sold by NM-Engineering
MP-Rezeau - GR3 kit, AP Racing 330mm. Fits front and rear. AP kit again and a slightly bigger disc. Needs caliper spacers and I'm unsure whether they are included in the kit price but I've sent them an email so we'll see. A friend has these on his A110R and is mightily impressed. Also unsure whether the pad needs machining although I would expect not as the spacers should resolve that problem. Again the same questions about landed costs to the UK (Editied to add that they have confirmed they can ship to the UK and sell free of French VAT, so that should be easy enough)
Reyland - I'm sure they do something to fit but can't see it on their website (Megane/Clio fit). Much cheaper if they can do something. Comms aren't their strong point based on my last interaction with them so if there isn't anything on the shelf I won't bother further
Wortec - 320mm. Fit front and rear. Don't know anything about them other than the photos. They could be the very finest available but I've yet to see them being used hard on track and I don't want to be a guinea pig (unless they are VERY cheap).

I can see me going down the Girodisc route due to ease but I will try and see what MP-R can do first. I hear they are superb when you're there in person but can be a bit hit and miss with email/phone.
