I have a few documents with IP worth something to a small audience and would like to sell them via a link from various social media sites but I need somewhere that can host them and handle the payment transaction part. Can anyone recommend a suitable platform for hosting the documents and managing the payments?
TIA

For hosting you could start with Amazon Web Services, you can get started with a (very) small server for free than scale up as you need

https://aws.amazon.com/free/

They also have a decent CDN that would be ideal for hosting your docs.

For payment any reason not to use PayPal? Again you can change to something better (Stripe etc) when things start moving.

Shopify can do digital products. Much simpler than setting up your own hosting and payments and trying to automate the delivery etc in a secure way.

Some things to consider...

How will you protect your IP?
What is stopping one person buying it and then sharing with friends?

We wrote a system for a compliance company that gathers information from the end user to fill in the blanks in the document. i.e. company logo, company details, etc.

Whilst it's not bullet proof to theft, it does cut it down.

Shopify or Ecwid. Both will do what you need. I've used Ecwid and you can limit downloads also.
