Apologies as I expect this has come up may times before, I searched but couldn't find anything recent / specific to 570gt.

My current tyres will be end of life soon, they are the Mclaren (stamped MC) Pirelli P Zero with the PNCS. All road use.

What are peoples thoughts on the MC rating - is it necessary? I have no warranty to satisfy. I can find the rears for £350 ish with MC rating or £260 ish for the same tyre without the MC rating. I would get a matching set of 4.

Then there is the Michelin PS to consider which seem to be better for road use from what I can understand.....any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Does fitting PS4 invalidate any warranty though

Many many owners (including me) swap to Michelin PS4S. They are much better.
I do find that they are harder though (I think they only come in XL for the McLaren sizes) so have to drop the tyre pressure slightly.

I have a 2019 570GT.

It came on Michelin PS4S which I've been very happy with over the past 14 months / 5k miles.

Last Spring I committed to a breakfast car meet, the day dawned with heavy rain. Other drivers at the meet were talking about how sketchy their cars had felt with standing water on the motorway, I had nothing to say as my car had been absolutely fine.

I've found they continue to grip down to c. 5 degrees, and still find decent adhesion on wet/damp surfaces, so it works well on the road in the UK nearly all year. They also seem to give up their grip fairly progressively.

I've done one trackday, I was advised to back off once the tyres reached 70C to preserve them, which I did and that worked well. Again grip was good and fairly progressive. Certainly not the tyre you'd choose for track use, but can handle a certain amount of hard driving.

My only experience of the PZero is 3 days in a rented 570S in the prior June, I can't really offer a comparison though. In particular I don't know how much difference the PNCS makes to refinement.

I think McLaren Hatfield and V Engineering both suggested that the MPS4S is a good choice for McLarens mainly used on the road in the UK.

I'm not aware of any warranty that require the fitment of specific tyres, but (like the OP) I'm not in that position myself.

Michelin are best for the UK climate I think, warm up far quicker that the Zeros. I swapped on a 570S and traction was noticeably better

Michelin PS4S is the tried and tested best fitment (some uncertainty about which spec might be best); Continental Sport Contact 7 the newer option and winner of all recent tyre test reviews

A full set of Conti SC7 is around £800 which I'm likely to change to in a couple of weeks, comes out much cheaper than the other options and considering the performance from recent tests it's hard to beat

What sizes out of interest are people running for PS4S on the 570's? Im sure I read some people sized up as was easier to source or something?

I have 235/35 R19 front, 285/35 R20 rear.
It looks like the stock front width is 225 so the PO has upsized the fronts, which feels like it would help give a slightly more neutral balance.

I went for Conti SC7 on my 720 and its a vast improvement over the 4 year old P Zero.

Great grip on the road and a wet Silverstone, not sure if I'll cook them on a dry summer trackday but intend to find out soon.

I'd definitely have as my winter / wet tyre option again probably with another set of rims with Cup2 / Trefeo or similar semi slick for track work.

Having watched YouTuber Matt Armstrong wreck his Lambo on barely legal very slick AR1's in the wet I'm having a rethink on running track day tyres as summer tyres, the weather is just too variable to risk getting caught out.

PS4S on my 750, pretty much from delivery. You do need to lower the pressures to get the ride quality back. Far better than the P Zeros in UK weather.

Thanks for the feedback. Seems like the Michelin is the most popular choice.......I would be happy to sacrifice a bit of track performance for better on road and wet weather grip.

Continentals worth a look too especially based on price quoted above....

The Pirellis do seem to show a lower decibel rating, possibly due to the PNCS (foam inserts)? This does appeal to me being a GT and used for longer road trips......however, in the real world I expect that the difference is probably negligible.

I found the Michelin to be quieter than the PZeros.

Absolutely not.

They transformed my 650s, really made the car far more pleasant to drive, for everything from turning it round in the garage to high speeds on the road.

As already said the PS4S transform the car beyond belief. I was amazed at the differance from the OEM ones

I think that you should be very happy with them, they made a far bigger difference to my car than I expected.
