I want Ronnie to win another world championship just to cement his legacy as the greatest. That said, I'm glad he's out. He just didn't seem to be in the mood this year. He's a very on/off player and his demeaner around the table wasn't great. I think I saw him pot the white more than any other ball.
As much as I enjoy watching him play, he's a proper mardy and only seems to be doing it for the money these days.
He doesn't need the money.

He doesn't 'need' it, but he said he only entered this championship because his sponsor wanted him to do it, otherwise he wouldn't have bothered. Then he complains about spending too much time away from home, but he's happy enough doing the high paying events in China and Saudi that he's contracted to do. He's sold himself out, in other words.

As I said earlier in the thread, he should have received the same sanction as his manager Pat Mooney i.e. a lifetime ban from snooker.

He can fk off as far as I'm concerned. No-one is bigger than the sport they play.

Say what you like about Higgins but I do enjoy watching him because he genuinely cares & puts his heart into it.

I’m willing to forgive a greedy decision over a decade ago, that in fairness he wouldn’t have sought out if a tabloid hadn’t set him up. Lance Armstrong he isn’t.

O’Sullivan just sounds like a brat.

I’d like to see Bingham win because I’m a fat bald man too.

Seriously any one of the last 4 would be worthy winners & would absolutely cherish the opportunity to even appear in the final.

The thing is, he's 48, he's also probably well aware of how long he might have left at the top level, and it's quite possible that in the near future Saudi might come in and offer big money - but his time might have already passed. Would you be happy watching some number 40 in the world making more money than you ever did knowing you could still probably beat them?

It doesn't surprise me he might be trying to get them to hurry up. Imagine retiring then two years later Saudi come in and everyone's suddenly making flipping great wodges of cash for being not very good.

Interesting what has happened to the Class of 92, none got past the quarter finals.

Times are changing.

Isn’t Bingham in that group?

John Virgos commentary annoys me more each day. Stop bloody shouting. In fact just stop talking full stop and let the others do the speaking. Irritating man.

John Parrott has had his day too.

Get some fresh blood in there, but not Higgins, Murphy or Neil Robertson.

Is Neil Robertson the aussie guy? He looks like death warmed up, and has zero charisma

He does look like something from the planet Venus but I like his insights on what the players are doing.

bks, It's not a fking disgrace, and no he shouldn't.

They both got set-up, and he didn't know even about the meeting etc in advance. He got the fine and 6 month ban for his part in the whole thing, but didn't actually fix/throw a match. Mooney could have taken him down with him, but thankfully didn't.

But obviosly the armchair experts know better than the authorities.

This is just a wild guess, but are you from Scotland?
