It seems like that, I'm guessing a resin of some sort. It's a nice watch. I think I prefer it over the Hull diver and the Bradner (which are also very good). The strap on this Fleuss is much nicer in reality, a soft leather. I see they've been releasing GMT versions of several models, I've never had a GMT, isn't it a pain to set the time?

Also, everyone seems to be buying up the Casio Lineage models, think I need to get one!

As is often the case with Spinnaker it's worth checking Amazon for deals. Black/grey Bradner currently available for £140, which really is a bargain for a watch as nicely made as it is.

That is a great price….must resist…resistance fail…inbound!
Will match my blue Bradner….
Received this today.
I’m going to send it back I think.
It’s too dark, far darker than the website pictures. Need a torch to see the time….

It’s dead easy to set both the actual time and the 24 hour (GMT) time with the NH34 movement; I assume that’s what Spinnaker are using for their new GMT watches.

Thanks for the info, and yes I'd assume NH34, it would match up with their other models. I'll get a GMT at some point I'm sure, probably a San Martin now they're starting to make original designs.

Sorry to hear it's not readable. I've never seen that colour in person. The military green is also a black case, but is very readable since it has a sunburst dial and yellow indices. Still, I'm not a big fan of black watches so I've only worn it once.

and for those interested I know that there is currently one on ebay that looks incredibly similar. May be able to get a bargainscratchchin

*Didn't hang around long at £120

Should I spend pretty much thread max on a brand new Tissot prx digital or get yet another variant of a dive watch?

Just had a reasonable bonus so feel the need for a little treat!

I love digital watches so the thought of an 'up market' one appeals.

We're a broad and tolerant crowd here, but I simply couldn't countenance spending 230 quid on a very ordinary looking digital watch, no matter what brand it was.

Sorry for pissing on your chips, but I think there are very many more attractive watches out there, with either hands or numbers.

As a counter, I'd say spend your money on what makes you smile.

The straps are nice too, I was trying a few today to have as an alternative as the mood takes me. Price relatively reasonable too from Tissot. Just need to find out if they do extra long straps, one of the jewellers said they did.

I love digital too. But at that price - not convinced. The module is worth what, 25 quid?

So at around £130, maybe. Similar styled vintage watches turn up on eBay all the time at around that level (or used to).

On a slight tangent, but the quartz Ronda movement that TAG Heuer use in their aqua racer dive watches costs about a tenner.

When the watch is over a grand, it’s difficult to see the value added.

After seeing the posts about Ali Express I decided to have a look for an 18mm stainless steel engineer bracelet as I have a few watches that would suit it.

I ended up with this for £1.38 delivered! How is this even possible, the quality is good and they must be losing money on it?

Also came with a screwdriver for the screw links, spring bars and spring bar tool.

Lovely looking thing that, but that's a hefty price for a digital watch.
As always it is your money, if you like it then go for it!!

They're about 50 odd quid retail, aren't they? Assuming economies of scale & preferential supplier agreements Tag probably get them for about £35. Considering you can get the Sellita SW-200-1 they decorate for their Calibre 5 movements off ebay & aliexpress for under £50 the automatic aquaracer 200s are probably a bigger ripoff with the £700 markup they command.

Its veblen goods, though innit? Like a pint of ol' wifebeater it's reassuring expensive. Because it's expensive it must be good, the more expensive it is the better it is and the better it is the more you're prepared to pay for it.

Competing to sell the best product at the lowest possible cost is a race to the bottom and a mugs game. Mass produced exclusivity is an unquestionably superior business model.

And let's face it, us punters are not buying a watch, we're buying an ideal, a lifestyle, status. And ultimately it's always the wifey's fault for not listening.

So broad and tolerant that comments from one user put me on a self imposed ban for a couple of years, but hey-ho.

Very sad to hear that, I thought we tried to be open minded, the only thing I don't like is people sniping at others.

I'm adding shark mesh and grain of rice bracelets to that. I don't care if you were the OP! hehe
