I’m sure I will get a beat down for this. But my wife and I are looking forward to it. It’s her favourite TV show and I find some of it quite funny.

It was quite funny. Better than most TV sitcoms.

The main story really pisses me off though. Who the fk gets married with absolutely no plan of how your future lives are going to work!!!
It is only a sitcom, but judging by the number of people who divorce fairly soon after marriage, quite a few?

The OH likes it, me meh don't get what it's all about, never found it funny.

But we're the same way about other shows like friends, she likes watching it, I think it's as funny as a kick in the pants.

Fair enough. I always thought that there was some good writing and good comic acting.

The thing that let it down being the two main characters!

50/50 for me. It was never that funny and quite frankly I would never tire of punching James Corden in the face. He's one of the most annoying, overrated people on planet earth.

All a bit too slapstick for me. More a fan of dark humour, but I guess humour is very subjective. smile

I can't wait, it's the only highlight of my Christmas (I have to spend it with 4 generations of in-laws who think Michael McIntyre is the height of sophisticated, edgy comedy)

I also spent my childhood visiting my grandparents in Barry so it's nice to see it on telly in all its "glory"

Never seen an episode.

Saw clips and that was enought to convince me it was carp.

I really enjoyed it back in the day and have recently re-watched most with my girlfriend who hadn't seen it before but now loves it.

IMO is far better than most crappy tv sitcoms (Mrs Brown, My Family etc) and is more on a level with Father Ted. Great characters and it's really charming and a lot of it rings true to real life families.

We're genuinely looking forward to watching it, along with much of the country outside of PH it seems.

Thanks for the insight, you should think about reviewing shows you haven’t watched professionally.

That's the point though, every other character is bloody marvellous.

You're very welcome. Fanny.
Imagine posting an opinion on a programme on a thread about the programme. ffs how daft of me.
I watched parts of it but couldn't even watch an episode, the parts I saw were unfunny and the show just looked not worth bothering with.

If you love it and I've pissed on your chips, then nae luck smile

I for one am looking forward to it. With respect to those who've perhaps only watched 'clips' of it, I don't think you can make a fair assessment. It's one of those programmes where you have to get to know the characters and their personalities to appreciate how very cleverly written and funny they are. I just hope we're not expecting too much tonight.
