The Tories are certainly well and truly done and I would be gobsmaked if sunak didn’t bail fairly soon and leave it to someone else to take over the party.

God knows who though as they ain’t got anyone left!
You would think that would be the logical thing to do, sadly I don’t see it happening
Totally unelectable for a generation. They will be fighting over who can be the worst representation of the UK far right, and eventually a more moderate centre right Conversative party will emerge. This will all take a long time to work out.

Absolutely. Incredible results for Labour.

I did some canvassing and leafleting for Labour in what will be a key target seat at the GE. The organisation was incredible. Never seen anything like at previous elections.
Ah comrade BSB, why is it incredible, the incredible part is that the Tories have made an unelectable bore like Starmer into a dead cert rofl

Not really. Soon Labour will be in and all those currently all excited about things will be in a state of shock. Their policies will all be excuses, blame culture being the over riding factor and the obvious leadership scrap as Starmer fails to deliver. Meanwhile with the Sunak gone, hopefully a clear out and I’d predict a single term in power. Taxes hiked, open door immigration, pandering to Unions….its going to be a standard play in a badly fitting suit smile

Apparently the Government has lost another High Court hearing, this time over its climate change revisions. Guess they will appeal.

Wishful thinking there., Who do you think the Tories will clear out and who do you expect to replace them? Who's going to lead this resurrection?

The members have form for being batst crazy when it comes to leadership elections so a lurch further to the populist right under Badenoch or Braverman looks more likely.

Few more years of fun watching them self destruct I reckon.

Not really. We’re facing chaos with Labour, and let’s see their actions rather than words. Two cheeks of the same ass. Politics need two credible parties, we don’t have a single one at present.

I'm not so sure they can.

Reform might be about to wipe out the Tories

Would this be the same chaos as the 'chaos with Ed Miliband' that David Cameron claimed to be saving the country from in 2015?

Really glad we dodged all that chaos over the past nine years!

If only simply repeating slogans made it so, eh? hehe

What the Tories need to do is exactly what Labour did after the last election. Clear out the fringe lunatics from any position of real power or influence and make themselves palatable to a big enough proportion of the electorate to have some hope of winning a majority again in the future.

My guess is that they will do exactly the opposite. As you’ve said, they’ll lurch further to the right with someone like Braverman (assuming she still has a seat. She’s my MP and she won’t be getting my vote this time around) and further marginalise themselves whilst trying to out-lunatic Reform.

I give Labour at least two terms with little to no effective opposition.

I wouldn't mind but I bet that dear Carlo hasn't been making those noises for the past five years.

Like a few others it's funny how "they're all as bad" seems to have really picked up over the last six months laugh

Ever since it's been clear that the Tories are clueless and Reform have been outed as a reincarnation of the National Front it's been nothing but "Well they're all as bad as each other" and "... but Labour"

Lost 55% of councillors so far, upto half of councils reported.
Won Tees Valley mayor

I'm holding off on my bet until later. I think there is more of a slide coming which will affect the prices.

Oh you forgot proportional representation.

Funny how many of the people who had absolutely no problem at all with Johnson's 80 seat majority are now all convinced that the two party system is completely unfit for purpose.

Can't think what bought that Damascene conversion about hehe

Anyone who reads Private Eye will be hoping that Tory Teeside Mayor Ben Houchen loses his position when the results are in later. Predictions ahead of time had it as a tight contest with no obvious winner, but the sooner he is sacked and an investigation is launched into the freeport there the better.
Unfortunately back in. I only know what I read in PE so locals must think that’s a price worth paying.

You keep parroting two cheeks of the same ass but contradicting it by saying Labour will be chaos. Why are you so terrified if they are both as bad as the other? Make your mind up.

Oh absolutely. The two party system is suddenly irretrievably broken, coinciding with the implosion of the nutcase right hehe
