Who cares what colour hair she has: she's been brain-dead for 75000 years.

Marge and Massie trying to oust Speaker Johnson again, claimed support from Gosar as said last night.

With the recent win in NY house majority for the gop is just 1 now...
Hakeem Jeffries stand back and stand by? biggrin

I can't imagine that would be the case - it is what it is, the Trump Court of final appeal which will rule on the rulings of other courts.
Far from an expert here, but I thought that unless there is a list or some declaration (however vague) of what is or isn't a presidential act in the constitution (no idea if there is or not) then SCOTUS would probably deny a hearing of "Is <specific act> subject to immunity?"

They're not big on keeping out of stuff these days - smart legal minds suggested that this Immunity case judgement was so watertight in the lower court that there was nothing for Scotus to take, so they'd decline to hear it.

Daily Beast are reporting that they have new secret emails and notes from Weisselberg showing he was also working for the trump campaign.
"According to internal Trumpworld emails, Weisselberg was an 'enormous help' to the 2016 campaign", in kind contributions and was making the hush money payments to help trumps campaign

Cohen had previously testified that Weisselberg was fully involved.

Another gag hearing today for trump, another early morning rant

"We cannot let this radical left, corrupt and highly conflicted New York Democrat judge interfere with the presidential election of 2024" etc etc...

The trouble is that some of the Supreme Court justices seem to be keen on creating new laws, when that isn’t their purpose. It is unfortunate that there are a lot of lunatics in power when they shouldn’t be, which prevents Congress from changing the Constitution to make it clear that Presidents don’t have criminal immunity.

Gag order hearing has ended with no decision made yet. Judge Merchant made clear to trump’s defence team that he doesn’t believe the defence put forward - all 500 pages of it.

I suspect further clarity on the gag order and more fines, and another strongly worded rebuke to be ignored.

Not going great in the gag hearing. Blanche tried claiming trump was gagged from responding to Biden after Biden said trump was experiencing "Stormy weather.", when he didn't go to his rally because of the weather, complaining Biden wasn't gagged but trump was

Merchan pointed out he could respond to Biden
https://www.rawstory.com/trump-trial-2668131817/

Obviously trumps been ranting to him

He's not going to be happy because Blanche brought up Cohens comment calling trump "Vonstzinpants"

Hearing over, judge will rule later

59 cent fine and an hour on the naughty step writing out 100 times “I will not break the gag order”

Talk about a serious and heavy sanction.

4 new violations. The first was when trump left court after the last hearing on the gag order and attacked Michael Cohen.
The second is when he gave an interview where he claimed that the jury was 95% Democrats.
The third was when he again attacked Cohen in an interview with a local TV station in Pennsylvania.
The fourth was when he praised David Pecker in the middle of his testimony.

As said before, all came before he was warned of jail time, so I'm expecting another $1k fine each and another warning

I wonder if the penalty would have been the same if this was any other defendant. Suspect not.

Blanche was trying to claim trump hadn't violated the gag order by attacking the jurors as a whole, when he called them Dem stooges, called the jury “99 percent Democrat” and alleged the selection process was rushed.
Judge didn't agree on that, said trump accused them of being an unfair jury

Blanche tried claiming it was unfair that "Everyone in the world can say everything that they want,"
Justice Merchan explained that the difference is trump is a criminal defendant.

Then Blanche tried claiming trump hadn't broken the gag order and it was a 15 sec comment taken from a 20 min interview.
Merchan “Did he violate the gag order? That’s all I want to know?"

And his punishment will be about as effective as what I’ve suggested.

Again, and I've said it twice now, judge is restricted on what he can do immediately under NY law.
However trumps had his warnings, he has threats of jail next time.

trump was shaking his head at Blanche as agreed with the judge overtrump deliberately ranting to the press

Judge Merchan to Blanche: 'You're telling me the scrutiny is outrageous, but nobody's forcing him' to talk to the press in the hall. 'The entire area has been set up the way it has been set up so that your client, who is a candidate for president,' can exercise his political speech rights."

Why would Biden be gagged? He's not the one on trial having a go at everyone!
