We depart on Monday for a Celebrity Infinity cruise to Turkey and Greek Islands from Athens.

It will be our first ever cruise so glad that it is a smaller (well about 2000) ship - will feedback on our return

Just had some really great news from MSC.

For our next cruise, 12th May from Copenhagen and around Norway, we were in a Balcony room.

We got the opportunity to bid for a Yacht Club upgrade, but only to a Yacht Club inside room.

We mulled it over quite a bit as we really wanted a balcony room, given the scenery, but we did put in a bid, on the basis of we could go up on to the Yacht Club decks when we want to - grab a coffee and watch the world go by as it were.

Just had confirmation that that bid was accepted - BUT they've given us a free further upgrade to a Yacht Club Deluxe Balcony Suite.

Really chuffed!

Yacht Club looks amazing and we have it booked for future cruises with MSC, but didnt expect to be going with YC on this cruise.

Proper ship within a ship stuff. Cant wait!

start in Greenwich and finish in Edinburgh, surely a bit of a PiTA getting back home?
Ha! where I live it's either a 3 day drive or a 4 hour flight to and from any decent cruise frown The few which leave from Fremantle are usually short boozy cruises to nowhere (or a leg of around Australia)

We're not quite as bad as that but still a bit of an expedition. We're in N Ireland so either a ferry to the mainland and drive down to Southampton which takes a day all in, or a 1 hr 20 flight to Southampton or approx 3 hours to Spain.

‘I fancy getting away for a couple of weeks and there’s plenty of places I’ve never been to in the UK especially around the Scottish Highlands and sea lochs, maybe a little further north to take in Iceland departing from say Southhampton. I know there are plenty to choose from but I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations say around 3K for two weeks.

Brilliant result and a bit of a risk but fair play for going for it.

Yes, we'd still have been well pleased if we'd gotten the upgrade even to the inside cabin in YC - it really looks exceptionally good. Another level completely compared to the main ship. Would have missed the balcony a little bit though.

But yes, the icing on the cake was the further free upgrade to balcony suite.

Really buzzing about it to be honest.

Has anyone seen any of the videos from onboard the new Cunard ship Queen Anne?

To be honest, i'm a little disappointed. They seem to have removed pretty much all of the uniqueness of the Cunard ships.

Off for a fortnight on the Grand Princess to Vancouver to Alaska and back in a couple of weeks.

Looks an interesting destination, wales and glaciers, hopefully.

Outrage on Facebook today.

P&O increasing booze package prices and also dropping the rule that allows people to bring 1 litre of spirits each onboard.

Only 1 lite of wine or champagne allowed to be consumed in the cabin or £20 corkage fee.

It's also on cruise critic

https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/3006662-dr...

It's a fine balance and I think they might waver in whatever they decide. The daft thing is on my last few cruises the bars have always been rammed with the current policy. A few months back they weren't even checking what your bought onboard at ports- yet the bars on board still couldn't cope.

I'm not super fussed but their onboard selection is pretty crap, so they'll need to change that pronto.

The drinks package isn't good value either.

Something tells me they're putting out 'the feelers'.

I’ve worked on a couple of these types of cruises. Quite quickly you stop noticing that the passengers are naked!

Presumably because you’ve clawed your eyes out half way through the first sea day?

Got back last Friday from our first cruise.

P&O Britannia Southampton to Norwegian Fjords.

Really enjoyed it, food and staff were excellent.

Boat was good, it never felt crowded unless you went to the buffet at busy times but even then it was ok.

Fjords were stunning with Skylift at Olden and hike up Langfossen waterfall followed by a buffet lunch at a farmhouse next to it worth the money alone.

Drinks were reasonably priced (we had £100 credit and spent £130 on top of that).

Weather was mixed first 2 days but cleared up last 4 days and we were sunbathing on Thursday heading back to Southampton.

Met some really nice people and also met some not so nice, mainly cruise snobs who loved to boast how many cruises they had been on and there wasn't enough GF options! (there were loads).

Any car parking recommendations for P&O Southampton leaving 29/6/24
We don’t have the terminal as yet but probably not a train smash

CPS would get my vote. Used them before. They park your car in secure parking. You just pull up to the cruise terminal.
