Openreach turned up yesterday as a surprise to try to run the new cable/fibre to the house. They nicely drilled out a tile then found the builders had blocked the duct with cncrete, so have drilled that out-ish.
Returned just now with an industrial hoover....as they still can't get the cable through the duct...

Still getting nowhere, we now have a hole in the front garden as they try to find the ducting.Returned just now with an industrial hoover....as they still can't get the cable through the duct...
All this because they wouldn't let me continue my old deal...

Just catching up after a few days lying low.
Firstly, very best wishes to all Residents ailing or suffering inconveniences of one sort or another. Especially ol' PQ (KBO old chap),
and Bomma's entourage (that's the extent of my French).
Secondly, congrats and thanks to those with posting milestones (ooh-err Matron!)
This little corner would be somewhat slower without the stalwarts
Council Estate spec for me, in hearing-aid beige, with keep-fit windows (i.e. wind-up)
They don't make 'em like that any more

Glad you’re on the mend, Bobbers.
There’s a lot to be said for poverty spec vehicles. Far less complication and fewer opportunities for things to go wrong, often expensively.

They will be making $5 a month extra from me, after 8 months (cos they owe me £40) and the cost must have wiped out any profit from the 2 year contract
Yeah we left virgin 2 years ago because we had issues with the router but they said it was working fine. No wifi signal outside the room it was in...
When we cancelled the guy couldn't believe that was the reasons, tried to get me to stay but we'd already gone BT then.
Saved a fortune as well...
Weird in Wales I just renewed the same, probably because they only have fibre to the cabinet there. Obviously there's got some push to get everyone on fibre here. No doubt they push the price up when this contract ends and I'll just drop again

We switched recently from BT to Sky saving a good chunk of money folding it in with our TV subscription. I can’t say that the service is any better as it’s coming across the same old BT line in the village. We have had cable put in along our road so waiting to see what service will be offered.

28 Questions, possible 33 points, something for everyone? Nothing medical though
1960's should favour you oldies
