I’ve got a 2002 VY SS Ute. I should really get rid of it because I just bought a VF wagon…but I’ve put it in the garage while I think about it (at least that is what I’ve told my wife … I’m keeping it )

This absolute horror show is a Chinese made Bamin, a company partly owned by the Chinese army and used to knocking out rough old military hardware. This thing was a Mercedes W123 rip off pick up, but based not on anything remotely Mercedes like, but the prehistoric body on frame BJ212 with a locally made 70bhp 2.4 oil burner. So not really a car based pick up but a hideous curio none the less.

Bamin went under in the late 90s.

My first car. Perfect for uni, carting motorbikes and band equipment around. Also had a proper custom fit mattress in the back with sound system and some occasionally some scented candles.

Amarok is built on the same platform as the Ford Ranger. Old one was it’s own chassis. The MLB platform doesn’t have the load/towing capacity needed for a commercial pick up.

I had a few of those back in the day and they were used for the intended purpose , the pick up beds used to dissolve in front of your eyes .
The sierras were a better drive , they had their own race series at one stage if I remember correctly ?

They were silhouette type racers, not real trucks.

This was in the eighties , I’m pretty sure they were basically std p100 as they were woefully slow .
