Despite the number plate, their is no visible Staffy-related damage to the interior.

Looking at the wheels in the picture I assumed it was one of those diesel pretend STs, they look smaller than I remember. Jaded by years of even small cars having huge wheels!

Lovely thing at the time, but I fear it would feel lacklustre now.

Here's a toppy E500 at £6k with 177k. but well specced -- not sure on the exhausts, however as despite my attempts at developing an E500 beard over my years of ownership the inclusion of AMG sport alloys throws me off -- were these really standard? They look tidy.

Your beard is greyer and has been stroked more than mine - do you think this is a late 5-speed rather than a 7-speed?

Also was keyless start a factory option then? Never seen a 2003/2004 with that gear selector.

Top buying on the Cayenne!
He didn't really 'buy' it as such, it was more of a steal. hehe
It gets better

Some twit paid close to £4k for this rolling borkfest from this reputable looking dealer in early January this year.

The gear selector is an OEM one. It also has HK audio. It could well have the 5 speed, hard to say really.

Love a cayenne well done. Just my sort of thing that.

Not only is genius jammy enough that he's procured a £900 cayenne, he's only £450 in since splitting It with me biggrin

No forecourt shot (to be frank the experience of filling it's 100l tank and spending £150 for 400 miles range left me a bit stunned) so have a work car park shot instead, he looks much better in natural light imo

Did 50 miles back to my place, didn't skip a beat, 20mpg including two pulls to speeds not really warranting mentioning in public (let alone doing in an auction special £900 cayenne, but i digress). Wicked radio, wicked seat heaters, pretty hefty steering but I don't think it's broken, and quite possibly not happy with the height sensor out. Oh yeah, surprisingly comfy too considering the suspension is in full hard full height mode.

Wicked buy, although bizarrely I've come all over with the urge to start taking steroids and make some vital "IMPROVEMENTS" to the car to DOMINATE the gym car park

hehe

I think height sensor is first priority, the steering lock I'm monitoring as it hasn't been a bother since getting charged, new shifter knob and of course, getting rid of the single exhaust silencer biggrin

That Cayenne purchase is exceptional. If that E500 was a grand cheaper I'd have a look.

Wow, amazing value and with history seems a relatively honest 20yo car.

It will be, go take a look. Post the forecourt shot here, don’t forget the ginsters for the train journey.

Link?

Looks very smart.

Personally, I prefer bogo spec cars - less to go wrong and better value for bargistas.

It certainly didn’t leave the factory with parking sensors - the switch is placed at the rear of the gear selector surround, and there isn’t one there on this car nor is there the indicator in the roof liner above the boot. I can’t be bothered to try and check the VIN, but it’s possible that the AMG body kit was fitted later, and the sensors on the rear bumper are purely an historic decoration. The vendor has labelled it as a Sport, but that model designation didn’t arrive until the mini-facelift. IIRC correctly, the AMG wheels were a factory option, but again whether they are a later addition to make it an E55 lookalike I don’t know.

ETA - it seems to have dropped £1k since yesterday; could the vendor be a lurker?! Another weirdly specced car, but this is potentially far better value, with the 5.5.

RUI, is this local Diesel E320 in a fetching sludge colour known to you?

Literally a wipe over with a damp cloth would have made all the difference by the looks of it. Top standards in sellingsmanship.

Near side looks a different shade from the rear doors back.

Very nice though.

Great Cayenne purchase! Facebook marketplace does have examples around £1-2000 mark, but finding one for less than that is very good. Wonder why the previous owner chopped it in so soon (hopefully just due to it's penchant for fuel).
One thing to keep an eye on is blocked drains (in the sunroof too). Lift up the carpet in the driver's and passenger side front footwells, and make sure all is dry.
Lovely cars.

Sub-thread Cayenne is phenomenal!

Well played chaps. Reminds me of the Lexus bought for a single pound.

Bork experience may vary…

Speaking of the alloys - they are very prone to leaking air and despite two refurbs and a replacement set they all eventually succumbed on mine. Granted this was many years ago and perhaps they improved the quality over time. A shame as otherwise a great car to daily, estate being particularly useful!
