I think it’ll be better again when I stump up for a posher alignment.
I also managed to fix the stripped sump plug on the 330i courtesy of a kit from Amazon. I ran an M13 tap through the hole and am now using a bigger plug. The tap was covered in Vaseline to catch the swarf. Once done I added a few litres of oil and there was no sign of swarf in it, so I’m considering that a win.

MOT and some planned repairs today. Brake dust shield fell off and was rubbing against the inside of the alloy so got that fixed and did the MOT at the same time.
Failed on a broken spring and a cracked alloy. Garage cannot fix the alloy so I’ve driven it away on the hunt for a welder….. then back to the original garage for the shock…. Pot holes, I do my best to avoid them but some of the roads around Bristol are appalling

Finally fixed the OS angel eyes. I've been battling with this since I bought the car. First off hard to acquire corroded bits, still not working, replaced the bulbs, still not working. These replacement bulb wires then rusted/ seized to the crimp, so had to pull them off, leaving as bare wire. Clamping new crimps on with pliers, didn't work.
Thank you to whoever linked the £12 crimp tool. After a lot of awkward manoeuvres needing the hands of a tiny girl I finally got a tight fit on both wires and plugged on the new light. At this point little hope of it working, nothing else on it has ever sorted it. Turned on the ignition, and let there be light!!
Looked at the rears of the alloys (because of brake vibration, as someone suggested) for any refurb runs, poor masking etc, very little, none bar a slight paint lip on the perimeter, so flattened this, but really don't think it has sorted anything. Whilst these were off I sanded down the wheel hub and bilt hamber hydrate 80'd it. Always nice to see rust be-gone
I'll post pics later of the rear of the alloys, and the discs, just in case I'm missing something (discs seem in good none warped condition)

Sorry to hear re the wheel wobbles; discs don't warp. It's either pad deposits that need to be worn off when braking (ie re-bed them in) or one of the suspension arms has started to fail (bush or ball joint) and it's allowing movement to appear, more so when braking or at speed...Thank you to whoever linked the £12 crimp tool. Sometimes the only way this can be found is to remove the arm, unfortunately

Turned out the main thrust arm ball joint had failed (2 nd post down, see link to see how bad the ball joint was)! That was on a 4-5 month old brand new arm (fitted before I bought the car)

Had the rear brake pads and discs done today at Lloyd Blackpool. The retaining pins had seized which the had to cut and knock out. £500 all in including switching over my winters to the summers. They didn’t charge me for the labour to get the pins out. Got a courtesy car FOC as it was a waiting appointment so I could get about for the day which was nice. All in all a very good service as usual.
Having said that I’m back on the 19 inch Goodyear run flats that are so bloody firm compared to the pilot sport alpines the replaced.

That's not a bad price to be fair; I take it you have standard brakes and not the blue Brembo's with 370/345mm discs?Had the rear brake pads and discs done today at Lloyd Blackpool. I was at Lloyds today with my Dad collecting his i5 whilst his X3M has some work done under warranty (weirdly the tailgate has twisted)!
The one thing I'm very glad I've done with my F31 is stick with 18s and non RFTs (Goodyear Assym6s in 235/45/18 flavour (winters are Goodyear all-seasons in the same size); the roads local to me here in Preston are horrendous at best; and getting worse...!
Booked the M2 in for a DCT oil and filter change today.
Its recommended its done between 50,000 and 60,000 miles. Mines at 53,500 now.
Gearbox filter kit £237+VAT
Gearbox oil £208+VAT
£150+VAT of labour.
£714 all in.
It'll be due a service around July time but i thought i'd split the bills up a bit.

That’s an odd one, how does the tailgate twist?! They have a couple of X3Ms in - one in blue that was bloody lovely. £86k though!
Yeah I might go away from RFTs next time. I agree, roads are terrible, Waze just constantly warns me. I’m Preston way too, near longridge
