Audi S1 - High Pitch rotational noise under acceleration

Good Evening!

I have a 2015 Audi S1 and under heavy/full acceleration I get a rotational sounding high pitch 'ch-ch-ch' noise that increases with road speed. The noise is ONLY present under acceleration with Quattro enabled.

As soon as I pull the fuse on the Haldex, the sound disappears.

- clutch was changed a few months ago and the propshaft/transfer box/gearbox were removed. Since this the noise has been present.

Video in the link below shows the noise with Quattro enabled and the noise gone with the Haldex fuse pulled (in FWD mode).

Can anyone help?

Don't think it's anything rubbing on the propshaft etc as i've had a good look and can't see anything.

I’m not trying to be a smart arse here but why not take it back to the garage who did the work? It’s likely that they overlooked something when they put the transmission/transfer case back in, it could be something simple like a heat shield catching.

It was me who changed the clutch - hence I want to try find the issue myself

Hi mate I have the exact same problem. Done the same as you. Did you find out what it was ?
Mine does the same. Depress clutch. Noise goes. Seems like when you load the power train up. It sounds like metal on metal brake noise. Sort off.
Anyone know what it is. Drive slow up to about 20/25 mph. No noise. Accelerate and load up. It makes noise constantly. I e fitted new brakes all round. No faults with them. I’ve cleaned all faces etc etc. even changed pads. Incase. But still makes a noise. And freewheeling brakes don’t make a noise so can’t see it being brakes.
