Scratched glovebox Octavia - options?

See photo really, the glove box lid has had been damaged when a box was placed in the passager seat and I'm wondering what the options would be to improve or repair the damage might be. The car is an 18 plate Octavia Estate my mother in law has had from new, it's not ending her world but she was upset about it at the time having had the car from new. Obviously it's not just going to polish out, but are their any tricks of the trade for this for is deep scuff? Clearly the other option would be to try and find a replacement from a scrapyard but that's not a quick solution either.



All thoughts welcome, while I'm valeting it for her after she lend it to us for our weeks holiday.

Some smart repair companies also do interior repairs to plastics and fabrics etc. I’d start by calling around, I’m sure one of them will know someone that can repair it.

Just replace the whole thing for £20 and about half an hour of your time if you were slow

In fairness, if that's that right part, that's cheaper and easier than I was expecting.

A trim product may help, I had some scratches on a hard plastic van ignition surround and plastic treatment pretty much made it invisible.

I'd be amazed if that was cheaper than a second hand glovebox, though.

This is true, did not realise the replacement would be so cheap.

You can't really see the codes on the part when it's fitted, is their a Skoda equivalent of ReakOEM where I can turn a reg/vin number into a parts list?

By way of an update, bought a used one then was as bad, sent that back and bought a brand new one from Skoda. Not even the ruinously expensive. Very quick and easy swap. Happy MIL.
