It finally happened. After two years, 78,000 miles and more time in the air than Easyjets entire fleet, we've suffered our first failure of the invincible Tracer.

Or more specifically, the controller. The sprung action on the steering wheels has failed, possibly been dropped but it's all still works but with no return spring to return it to centre... it's not ideal.

Opened up the controller and stripped it down and there's a sort of cam on the reverse side of the steering wheels that has broken. The spring was nowhere to be seen so I asked my 5yr and to my surprise he said "Yes, it fell out into my little sisters drink" but even more surprising was that I said "Can you find it?" and he did...

However, struggling to see a) how the broken bit goes back as it looks like it could go one of two ways then b) how the spring sits or indeed, if there should be two as I can't see how it'd work with the bits I have.

Couldn't find anything online so aside for buying / sourcing another controller (?) my last ditch hope is some kind should would be willing to open theirs and have a look / take a picture so I have something to work from.

I know that yes, for the want of £50 just buy a whole new car but that's defeating the point... this thing needs to hit 100k by summer or if he keeps going at the skatepark, perhaps hit a passing aircraft.

Cheers

Around £13 to buy a new one it’s not even worth fixing imo.
