As someone who loved the Shardlake books by C J Sansom, I was properly excited for this. It's been 20 years in the making (the BBC had the rights but decided to make Wolf Hall instead).

First episode wasn't bad (mostly scene setting) and I'm glad they haven't Disnified everything so let's see. Anyone else interested in this?

I'd love to see Shardlake made visual.

Have read (and enjoyed) all of the books in the series.

Where is it available?

I enjoyed the books too and was sad to note Sansom died a few days ago.

I read Tombland recently as it was set here in Norwich. Currently reading the first of the series.
Will possibly watch if it gets picked up by a different service, or I get a free Disney trial.

Bugger.

Fat chance then of any future series books (or 'pre-series) or anything remotely similar from him.

I like Andrew Taylor in a similar vein.

Disney+. 4.99 for a month (with ads) is the cheapest way to get it.

I was very much looking forward to Ratcliff but I'm not sure how far he got. It's a great shame that he died so recently.

For those like me who enjoyed Tombland (a lot of people thought it a bit turgid), Ketts Oak is still alive, but rather smaller than I imagined it in the book On the B1172.

Yes, that did seem slightly shallow. Wholly unintended, though.

I have asked Saint Peter to adjust your records. You should be OK.

Tombland was my first Sansom novel and I appreciated the pacing but could see why others may find it slow going. I enjoyed it sufficiently to start the series from the beginning.

Depending how close to completion Ratcliff was to being finalised, it may yet get published in due course.
