I’m looking to fit a new garage door to our integrated double garage and there seem to be plenty of newer options available. Many pistonheads users also have garages hence posting here…
Originally I was thinking a roller door would be best but then I saw the sectional doors and claims of greater insulation and security. Also with fewer moving parts there might be less to go wrong. Can anyone give me some feedback on fitters and brands they may have chosen? Do they keep out the cold as advertised?

First, think about the style of door and the installation issues. Roller shutters are compact but can look industrial and aren’t insulated. Sectional doors have a more traditional appearance and can give good draught/insulation properties, but need 2 runners to go back in the garage as far as the door is tall. It depends on the installation (and garage height) whether this obstructs a tailgate lift or not.
In the sectional world there’s very little to choose between the suppliers in terms of quality. You won’t go wrong with Hormann, Garadoor, Cartek etc., you can choose between them on features/style and price and you’ll still get a decent product.

My roller shutter is insulated. The slats are hollow & filled with a foam material, approximately half an inch thick.
I would agree though that sectional doors are usually thicker & thus have more insulation material.
Have a look at friends and neighbours doors to see which would suit you.

I'm getting Novoport sectional fitted on the 20th by the Garage Door Company. It came in a fair bit cheaper than a CarTeck sectional quoted by another company.
There was not a lot in it between the two manufacturers as far as I could tell. The Novoport motor/operating unit is fitted on the side wall rather than on the ceiling in the middle as per the CarTeck, which was slightly preferable for me (but not a deal breaker).
I looked at roller shutters but I prefer the look and operation of the sectional. Roller shutters can tend to reduce the opening height slightly compared to other doors (due to depth of the box the roller retracts into).
