My OH has 2021 X3 Phev thing. Noticed at the weekend the state of the nearside front tyre:

I know it's the roundabout tyre and a heavy car, but I've never seen wear like this. I told her she better take it to Kwik Fit to get it checked out (thinking the tyre was probably illegal). They said no issue. What do you lot think? Obviously the middle 3/4 is well above the legal limit (I'd say most of the tyre is only half worn).

It had a full set of tyres sometime last winter (November ish I think). It didn't wear the previous set like this (P Zeros as before). Google tells me its not uncommon for X3 to wear the outside edge of tyres (the rest are wearing evenly).

I'd have the tracking checked, go somewhere proper with the proper kit, Hunter is one well known maker of good kit.

I did expect Kwikfit to suggest that (they don't have a hunter).

It's a company car so it has to go to them. We're not paying for the tyres either of course!

Don't bother, it isn't the tracking, if it were the wheel would be off-centre & the other would be wearing similarly as with the wheel off, both fronts will be evenly angled.

Whilst it may still be actually legal, it needs changing & may be best to change both fronts.

If it were my own car, I would be keeping the other as a spare in case the wear pattern continues.

I suspect she has simply got more used to it & is going round roundabouts just that little bit faster.

Also during the winter with wetter roads, the tyres would likely slip a bit more easily into understeer & when they are slipping is when they wear the most.

Not enough camber on that wheel. Does she drive it hard?

She's not a particularly aggressive driver. I usually drive if we're using the car together though, so maybe she's getting more keen.

I'm amazed Kwik Fit didn't jump at the chance to sell her (or rather Alphabet) two new front tyres. If it was my car I wouldn't be driving around on that.

Really scrubbed. Does she do lots of urban journeys?

My Wife's tyres look like that as she does 99% of mileage in a urban environment
