Anything happening in Essex this weekend?
Wheels at the Warren (Sun 0800-1100), a well attended event with some nice cars on display.http://www.thewarrenestate.co.uk/index.php/events-...
I went to the Father's Day Motor Fest @ Barleylands yesterday... absolutely pathetic. The organisers didn't have a clue what they were doing. Took 2 1/2 hours to get in from Southend (45 minutes on the sat-nav) 30 minute queues for the toilets and 45 minute queues for food.
Also because it was basically free entry for any modified cars, by the time we got in most had decided to leave so the stands were half empty and there was another leaving every minute!
Car park attendants didn't have a clue where to direct people to for parking.
Everyone on Facebook/Twitter asking for a refund but I don't hold up much hope!

Also had the misfortune of going to Motorfest at Barleylands. Was lucky I didn't get stuck in traffic but 45 mins to get from the entrance to the display area (confusion / no order to how to get the cars to the display area), 2 hours to get back out of the car park and the show itself was average at best - crap layout, poor mix of cars, big gaps in the club area (assume clubs didn't bother to show). Would avoid events by these guys (think they have one at Trinity Park soon, not going anywhere near it!)

What time were you there? I've seen complaints that a fair few clubs and show cars left early afternoon. FWIW we got there at around 11am, no great issues getting in (coming in from the West), parking was fine, and I thought the mix of cars was great. The queues for the food stalls looked horrendous, but we didn't eat. We spent a couple of hours wandering round the cars and were very happy. Would definitely go again.

got there around 8.30 (although it took over 45mins to get from the gate to being parked up as they had no system / logic to getting us in) and left around 2.15 (well tried to leave at 2.15, actually got out of the arena and car park at 4.20 - not a single marshal to be seen until you finally got to the road). I'd say at least 25% of the areas set aside for clubs were empty, and just thought the range of cars was poor (compared to say the shows at Helmingham Hall). I'll steer clear in the future as i only get a few passes from the 'boss' for car shows and think there are much better ones out there. But glad you enjoyed it!FWIW we got there at around 11am, no great issues getting in (coming in from the West), parking was fine, and I thought the mix of cars was great. There is a report about this on the Echo today, but no apology or refunds issued. Without those, these events are dead to me.

Hopefully will be able to get there for this as it does have the potential to be a nice day out - interesting that you are saying it is a great show, and I'm hoping that it is, but the previous years video on youtube didn't look that great actually, maybe just that the video didn't really capture it well http://forman.no-ip.org/maldon/index.html
