I managed to nab a HW Roadkill Rotsun via mail order this week, also found a Matchbox Morris Minor at Morrisons. I quite like Matchbox cars as they are often a bit more realistic than HW cars.
Not sure about the UK but in Oz Matchbox are sold in a sealed cardboard box. It means you don’t know what you’re getting - at least with HW you can see it.e.g.

In the UK it's the same sort of packaging as HW - I didn't realise they still sold MB in boxes.
Boxed examples do end up here, they end up in random places like Co-Op, PoundStretcher and independent toyshops. It's a nice throwback to the old days. I have a few of them.....

The issue I have with it is you don’t know what the contents actually look like. At least with HW you can see it and think “oh, I like that” whereas MB runs a risk of “that looks a bit off”.
Plus, if you want to display it you need to open the box (they are glued shut) unlike HW.

Good collection there - I see a few I have as well. The green AMX in the front row was the first one from my childhood that I made a point of tracking down and buying. It's a nice throwback to the old days. I have a few of them.....
