European Championship Rugby Cup 23/24

Cian Healy played in the 2009 semi in Croker, think he’s the only one still going. Actually, from what I remember that match was deemed a home game for Munster
I believe Landsdowne Rd is officially our home ground next season anyway due to the redevelopment of the RDS

I don't think I am, but agree that 80k watching is good for the game.
It's still Leinster playing in Leinster, no matter how you spin it.
Yes, but so what? Their players don't know the ground any more than Northampton's, and as I suspected, Quins fans are making as much noise in Toulouse as the Toulouse fans, so surely Saints fans could've done the same yesterday? It's still Leinster playing in Leinster, no matter how you spin it.
So, so different to Leinster at the Aviva which unquestionably is their first choice team's actual home ground in every respect.

I don't know how many Saints fans travelled to Dublin, but I'd bet they were heavily outnumbered by fans that only had to travel a few miles by comparison.
It would have been a lot more balanced at Murrayfield for example.
Quins fans were heavily outnumbered by Toulouse fans. We just make a lot of noise! It would have been a lot more balanced at Murrayfield for example.
If it had gone to Murrayfield it would certainly have been more balanced, largely, I suspect because you would've heard a fraction of the noise because the stadium would only be half full at most.
Most clubs have a hard core of fans who will make their way to pretty much any away game, but just how many do you think could justify the time and cost to go to a QF in a neutral country, knowing that if they win that they'll be facing the possibility of trying to find the cash and time to go to an SF in another country...
At best you might get a full-ish small-ish stadium with little atmosphere because a lot of the people there will be neutrals who've gone along just because it happens to be local to them.
The final is different, of course. Lots of people are happy to go to that just because it's the final so it should be a good game with a party atmosphere.
Ah well, another one that wasn’t to be. I really thought we were going to push on in the second half of normal time, and then almost miraculously in the second part of extra time
Fair play to Toulouse, deserving winners overall for their sixth star, but I’m beginning to worry about Leinster not performing well enough in finals anymore. Maybe we do need Barrett and RGS next season to provide a difference

As a neutral I was supporting Jack Willis and therefore Toulouse but as game started found myself supporting Leinster. Anyhow I thought Leninster really lacked their usual cutting edge today, a lot of wayward passing, some down to pressure from Toulouse. Toulouse were hugely physical and won it on the deck. I thought Leienster would be the fitter when it went into extra time.
RGS will make a bigger difference than 6 months of Jordie Barrett if they can keep him fit.
