An interesting race - messy start then got interesting. The podium suggests it could have the sort of season F1 would love. Time will tell. As for Fittipaldi crying on the podium - absolutely dedicating your life to standing there - fair play.
Mrs Deuce: "Well done, oh.. he's blubbing!"Well done indeed!!

Because we're in a little corner of PH I'll admit a little something - at my first ever test day at Castle Combe (FF1600) I had a stunning morning - fast, consistent etc. After lunch I went back to the circuit thinking I was definitely the next Schumacher - until I had a massive "off". Tears were shed because I felt so bad for all the people who'd worked so hard on my car. It took a bit longer to appreciate it was, sadly, part of racing. Well done indeed!!

His former F1 driver uncle died recently, that's what he was blubbing about and dedicated his win to.540TORQUES said:

There is so much pressure when you see other people working to support an effort that only you can realise - it's a huge amount of pressure and failing feels unacceptable, even if logic dictates it's sometimes inevitable.

Pin has lost her second win.. speeding after the chequered flag. She needs to walk away from this nonsense before her career is tarnished.
Don’t understand your second sentence. She was the deserved race winner, but was negligent in not seeing the chequered flag, and had to be penalised, as it was dangerous to maintain race speeds after the race had ended.
If she’s as good as people are suggesting, she’ll learn from the mistake and be even more focussed on winning the title.

Her team screwed up.She was the deserved race winner, but was negligent in not seeing the chequered flag, and had to be penalised, as it was dangerous to maintain race speeds after the race had ended.

Doesn't matter, she could not do another race and she's already proven what everyone knew already, she is miles better than the rest.

As for nonsense.. It's not nonsense, she's exactly where she needs to be, working in and around the full force F1 circus - and highly visible to the world of racing fans, and the people that could take her a step further. She's definitely got a step further than F1 Academy in her, she's so confident and consistent, she'll get this season wrapped up and move on to a more mainstream challenge in F3. Maybe even beyond that..

A difficult circuit for their first event of the season, but it does look like Doriane and Abbi are a class above the rest of the field so far. Looking forward to watching them fight over the season. It’s absolutely brilliant to see the ladies’ race properly integrated into the F1 programme, and the symbology of having the women race in Saudi Arabia isn’t lost on this motorsport fan.

If Bearman doesn't have a stonker of a season you will have every f2 driver that beats him saying look im good enough for an f1 seat?
They all probably say that anyway But even if he gets beaten in F2, it's hard to beat actual F1 drive time and on top of that, proving to be competitive.
De Vries won F2 and found his way to F1, and this happened: https://youtu.be/sUQM69mmE-o?si=WkiAIb6NIhM61NPS
There have been plenty of F2 champs that simply can't seem to make the jump to F1.

Money and politics plays a major role. Tsunoda wouldn't be there without Honda, Zhou wouldn't be there if he wasn't Chinese, Sargeant wouldn't be there if he wasn't a wealthy American, Stroll wouldn't be there if his dad wasn't bankrolling him.540TORQUES said:

However at one point lance was proving himself to be decent enough and a journeyman but then vettell was well past peak.
Yuki if he beats Daniel this year that will help his reputation though I don't rate Daniel much either.

But put me back in the pub on the pool table and it feels easy, I'm very hard to beat. I can be the master at one level, a damp squib at the level beyond it..
At least we can say that bearman has passed that test, as starting points go he was already confidently well into the top half of the grid.

Bearman did everything he needed to do: gained positions; kept out of trouble; finished; scored some points.
