England is not Scotland, nor Wales.

Get yourself on youtube and check out their anthems, it will blow your mind.

I agree but... It's kind of set in stone. Are you suggesting we change it!?

At least it's not as horrific as many others..
It would be nice if we could change it.

It doesn't have to be set in stone does it?

When's the last time we heard god save the king on the podium?
Never before, it’s the first time.
It's such a miserable national anthem. Made even more so by it now being about Charlie rather than ol' Liz.

Why can't we have one like the Italians? Even the Welsh and Scottish ones are inspiring and nice to hear.

I think "rule britannia" is very catchy and patriotic however its got a bit of a bad rep the last few years...

Lando's dad is a class act, and Hamilton has told Lando to stay over. Feels like a genuine post race buzz about this result, something F1 really needed.
Lando was half pissed within the hour if the spelling on his Instagram is anything to go by. He ain't getting on no plane tonight!

Max telling Lando that Miami is better to go out than silverstone lol

Also
Carlos straight to Mclaren in the background to congratulate them.

Given that QE2 took the throne in 1952 and Hawthorn was the first British GP winner in 1953, and Lewis hasn't won since Abu Dhabi 2021*... this is the first time we've heard it!

{*} a joke, albeit one that is funny 'cause it's true

Delighted for Lando, he may have had some good luck today but he's had plenty of bad luck previously, deserved a win for a long time, good to see it happen for him. The first of many I hope.

So fking happy for Lando. Finally. Long time coming. Sochi was heartbreaking. As was his major off at Eau Rouge.

He also pulled 7.5 seconds from Max today - that bodes well. We’ve toasted the lad here with bubbly. Fantastic result.

Derek, I live 2 miles away from the McLaren Technical Centre - I'll send pics of the sign if this actually happens!
Thanks for that. No chance of nicking the sign for me, is there?
Didn't know you had an Evidence Room Derek! biggrin

Brilliant to see Norris and McLaren on the top step. Well deserved!!

I'm assuming that's just another stupid americanism, writing the odds backwards like they do with dates?

Oh and making the minimum wage so low that people have to rely on charity ("gratuities") to survive
And thinking they're a rich country when the don't even scrape into the global top 20 for median personal wealth!

Genuinely over the moon for Lando Norris , it's well overdue and now the duck is broken I'm certain more will follow . The way he pulled out time towards the end whilst his nerves must have been rattling was great to see and bodes well to end the boredom of recent years .

Thanks to the wonders of time zones, had to get up early and watch the replay without reference to anywhere that might have the result.

Let’s just say that not a lot of fast-forwarding was done, massive congratulations to Lando on that long-awaited debut win in what was the best race of the year! I suspect there is one hell of a party still going on at the McLaren garage in Miami, several hours after the race finished, and that Zak Brown is being lined up for another appointment with the tattoo artist.

Some great racing further down the field as well, apart from Keven Magnussen, and good to see Lewis enjoy a race for once.

Norris taking a small glint off of the weekend by claiming it was an honour to meet Trump and have him congratulate him. Bizarre.

I assumed that was the "in play" odds, right towards the end?

So pleased for Lando. Long over due. When Croft was banging on about drivers claiming their first GP win in the US, he completely forgot that Bruce McLaren did it at Sebring in 1959

Definitely.

Lando was long odds on and Max and LeClerc were reasonable odds behind him.

Which made him the youngest winner at that time, and for quite a while afterwards too.
