I remain hugely impressed by the Emira, rides beautifully, the interior is a lovely place to be and for me it’s one of the best looking cars you can buy.
I think the noise has been well judged, it’s perfectly acceptable on the motorway where I can hold a conversation with the Mrs, but on a spirited drive in Sport mode it sounds fabulous. My only comment would be it sounds far better outside than in, hence I’ll often drop the windows!
I get that the scarcity of dealers is an issue and Lotus’ customer experience is not what it should be, but that doesn’t take away that the Emira is a cracking car in my opinion.

I often drive with the driver window open - never really get turbulence inside - makes the exhaust slightly louder...

Due to the platform restrictions Lotus has never indicated that it would be doing an Emira convertible so dont be waiting for that would be my advice

Good to hear some positive reviews on here. Any news on when a roadster will be available? Also, can anyone comment on comparison of the sound to an older Vantage ?
I know that the Evora chassis was not rigid enough on its own to allow for a convertible and needed the roof to make the whole car rigid enough. I have also heard that the Emira chassis is very closely related to the Evora one, so I don't think a convertible is even be possible. I am pretty sure that Lotus know that if they could produce such a car, then it might go a long way to increase sales.

Ah, that’s a big shame. When they were first imminent I remember the car mag I was reading saying they thought a roadster would come along as well in a couple of years, so always had that in back of mind as a future option. geresey said:

Just picked up my 1 yr old V6 FE last week. This is my second Lotus after owning an Elise S1 back in the day! Very happy with the car so far, first car I have had in a while where I just go out for a drive for no reason at all other than the pleasure of driving it. I think the car is a real head turner in both looks and sound. The cabin is a very pleasant place to be, and manages to be both comfortable and engaging. I have fallen for this machine big time...

That's not true at all. There wasn't a convertible because Lotus didn't have any budget to make one. Or the demand. The chassis is more than rigid enough.Gassing Station | Emira | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
