Period music for period cars
Discussion
Do you match your music to your car?
When I had 1980’s cars Robert Palmer or Duran Duran always seemed so appropriate.
Not exclusively but from time to time, especially with a classic I think it enhances the experience.
So in light of that here are some car / music combinations I think would be perfect.
Late 1960’s
Late 1970’s
Late 1980’s
Mid 1990’s

Haha, it’s a nice idea but I just listen to what I fancy in the car I’m in, the joys of Spotify / DAB radio.
Except the old Porsche… I have to listen to whatever radio station it can pick up that day.
And even then I can’t really ‘listen’ to it as it’s the bog standard OEM system from back in the day, which is possibly the world’s crappiest sound system. I’m sure it was designed to ensure first buyers said ‘yeah, I’d better pay for the upgrade pls..’.
With the roof down it’s just a tinny annoyance so best left turned off and listen to ‘pleasant but muted symphonies in flat-six’ instead

I'm open to period appropriate music for the Sierra. It's a 1991, so in theory Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Stone Temple Pilots are all valid, but I find I'm more likely to be listening to '80s stuff in it. Somehow Ultravox, Duran Duran, the Stone Roses, and Simple Minds are more likely to crop up in my playlist when driving it than the usual medley I'd be listening to (today, for instance, was Black Sabbath).

O/T that’s an epic ferry scene!I was stressing - just got to get there in one piece - do the parade laps - Planning to and did cruise down the autoroute at 60-65mph
29 Bentley Boys - Just had dinner with Prince Michael - Some had driven down from Aberdeen - The autoroute journey - They said, Oh, we cruise at 75-85mph and they did.
0700hrs they passed me at 75mph wearing rolled up white overalls and flat caps - Total Respect
