My wife’s fond of a little bit of whacking the horn when somebody cuts her up etc, I joke obi wan has taught her well. But I was in the passenger seat once when someone she beeped at decided to get out of the van.

100% this. Live in London, so traffic is heavy and more or less every journey someone does something selfish/daft. I just let it go. I can't remember the last time I reacted. Just need to get the wife to follow my example. As an aside, in not reacting and just letting it go, I reckon about 50% of the time I get an apology from the other driver, acknowledging their error.

I believe he started it by pulling out in front of her. That's some reaction to someone beeping their horn at him. Worth noting a random bloke had a go at him for his behaviour at the time, unlikely had it been a tit for tat scenario. Like xcp i doubt had it been a van full of builders or even a bloke on their own he would have behaved like that.
