£12 each way? Where are you coming from in London for that?
A zone 1-6 travel card (or capped fare) is £15.60 so unless your using the Gatwick Express or something, I'm not sure how you manage to spend that amount.
1.5 hours each way at a total cost of £12 for the return trip A zone 1-6 travel card (or capped fare) is £15.60 so unless your using the Gatwick Express or something, I'm not sure how you manage to spend that amount.

But, yes, they do both date from then.

Reducing his winning vote down to all the 'Muslims' and Labour voters (and density of y'know...people) sounds a bit Daily Mail tbh. As does talk of 'soaring knife crime' which as far as can see just appears to be simply returning to pre-pandemic levels.
Sorry I mentioned the glaring truth. If that makes me "daily mail", so be it.Edit, from a BBC article on how he won again:
"Official figures published a week from polling day showed knife crime offences in the capital up 20% in the last year. ." - post pandemic effect - no.
Guardian,
"Sadiq Khan’s election victory as London mayor has “bucked the trend” of Muslim voters turning away from Labour over the party’s stance on the war in Gaza, party figures said.
The 53-year-old won a third term as the capital’s mayor on Saturday, without seeming to have lost the support of large numbers of Muslim voters – unlike Labour candidates elsewhere in England last week.".
If you dont' think Muslim voters are having a big influence in British politics then you need to take another look.

I luckily have an over 60s Oyster but Khan't has kept the ban of using it during the rush hour after bringing it in during Covid.
When I could use it, it kept me out of my car for weeks at a time but it's about money Khan, not cleaning the air eh?
I have an o/60s Oyster card and I agree with Khan. It's a fantastic perk but people but being able to get to work free by using it before 9am is just a piss take. Most places in the UK also have a 9am or 9.30am start on their bus passes, and they don't get it until 67. We get free travel after 9am (9.30 on some overground routes) on tubes, buses, trams and Network Rail trains within the London area plus a fair bit beyond. What do people want, the moon on a stick!!!

Here's some more 'glaring truth'...like I say, slowly recovering from to pre-pandemic levels: (but carry on believing whatever truth you want to believe;)Edit, from a BBC article on how he won again:

Muslims at 15% in London, less than half certain other parts of Britain by the way.
Anyway, all very tedious and way OT...As you're not even a resident there you'll luckily never have to worry much about Londoners choosing to vote a way which doesn't quite suit you.

If they're voting then they're likely British Muslims. Is their vote any less relevant than British Christians? Or British Atheists?Edited by Griffith4ever on Sunday 19th May 18:28
TL:DR
What's the point?
Well, I guess local residents got fed up with people using that bit of road as a rat run, so they petitioned the local council to make it what it is and, I would guess the council agreed - bit of guesswork there - sorry.
The fine is to drive the point home to you and everyone else, otherwise if it was just an image of an old fashioned copper wagging his finger, you wouldn't take so much notice.
The fact that the signs didn't register with you, I am afraid I can't explain that.

As a Londoner I'm used to having to read constant signage about speed, parking restrictions, red routes, congestion zone, ULEZ, time restrictions on various roads and the list goes on and on.
The roads restricted to only residents with local parking permits have nearly caught me out from time to time as they pop up on routes I have used for years and are built in to my internal Sat Nav (Brain).
I often think how confusing this must be to anyone who rarely visits the city and how you spend more time reading signs than actually looking where you are going.
A good example is how I seem to get the bus lanes to myself because everyone else doesn't read the times that they are in operation.
My ex wife constantly gets tickets because she, despite living here all her life, is oblivious to anything apart from avoiding the other cars.
The OP has my sympathy.

It's brilliant. And have people shout at you that it's a bus lane, shake their heads, roll their eyes, etc. In West London there's loads of bus lanes that are only bus lanes from 7am-10am, and 4pm to 7pm. The rest of the time, it's only me and the buses in them valiant said:

Samuel Johnson, the author of the first-ever dictionary, made a statement about London that would stand the test of time, as it is which is still referenced today :
“When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.”
^ This is utter BS.
It should read :
When a man is tired of London, he’s sick of being taken for a c**t by TSL.
