Liking it much more than I thought I would after being fairly unimpressed with most of Slayer's later output. Reviews seem to be a mixed bag, some loving it and some bemoaning it sounds like Slayer. But I stayed up and listened to it just after midnight on Friday when it was put on Spotify and ordered the CD (which these days means I like it a lot!)

LLNN being announced for Damnation Festival opened my ears to them, as I hadn't heard of them before. Great band, has anyone else given them a listen? Their latest album (2021) is a good listen, I'm looking forward to seeing them now, having been strong armed in to getting a Damnation ticket by my mates hehe

Listened yesterday, pretty good. Very Slayerish, obviously, not a bad thing.

New solo album from Jasta is out too.

Big fan of Electric Callboy. This is the collaboration you never knew you needed.

Big fan of LLNN, looking forward to them. I'm also excited for MIZMOR, I don't really know them but the album they did with Thou is amazing.

I always do damnation, it's that excuse to meet friends from all over the country at the end of the year.

Some old skool

Atomic Rooster - Devil's Answer

My eldest brother used to play this loud and even at 6 years old I remember jumping around in my room.

I'm reluctant to try it.
I liked thier early stuff but it all went a bit "pop" later.
What's your thoughts?

I was a bit uninterested in their singles recently, apart from Amen - so I wasn’t expecting much to be honest

It is overproduced with stupid noises and is in a style you would expect. However they really do know how to write great songs still and overall it’s a great collection of songs imo, albeit not in the same league as the old stuff

Worth a listen but it won’t be something come back to much. Limousine is a great track.

I’ll join in - was into thrash predominantly in my younger days, but now my eldest is really into doom/black metal and I have started listening to it as well.

So have tickets booked for Batushka at Camden Underground in October and the Sepultura farewell tour at Hammersmith in November.

In the meantime, my youngest is in a band so going to lots of smaller gigs around London - next up is Camden Club next Saturday. I am loving watching the young unsigned bands - totally relaxed gigs and loads of variety

I would have really liked to go, just to see Fluisteraars.

Agalloch is quite a big announcement. I'm sure they've played the UK before but can't have been here much.

For those watching BGT tonight, did anyone else notice the Dad of one of the acts wearing a Helmet t-shirt?
