It's incredibly unlikely teenagers will be prosecuted for sexual relationships with other teenagers. Not in the public interest.

Also, this isn't aimed at you, but it's incredibly creepy that some posters have seemingly memorised the age of consent of other countries...
There have been some odd comments on the thread but I would probably give people the benefit of the doubt and assume they used google.

On the age of consent in other countries, there is a Wiki article which summarises the situation around the world

Your 15 year old self was still maturing (and I bloody hope you’ve done so more maturing since then). The impact/consequences may well have come later and affect your entire life, including that with any future partners.

What she did was illegal. The court found it so. It was also wrong morally, and others who have quoted ‘in the past it was acceptable’ etc) don’t realise it was ‘the past’ and things change, generally in favour of the individuals own physical and mental health.

There are some disgraceful posts on here. All this ‘lucky bd’ stuff *may* apply from both sexes of that age at the time, but they have long lasting repercussions. I echo the post from someone above that some of these posters should consider the case ignoring the sex of the participants. The victims (note no inverted commas) are just that, victims.

It's funny you mention this. Out with the boys on Friday eve, we were ribbing one about how 15 y/o him wanted to give the French teacher, Miss Roberts, his babies. His response, 'Oh I gave her plenty of my babies, she just didn't know about them' spermlaugh

Right, but if one of your mates suggested hanging around outside the local high school to pick up 15yr olds it'd have probably been less funny?

Remember when I was about 16/17 out drinking with a mate and his sister who i fancied the heck out of. Got back to his folks house for a joint, I went green and got given the spare room.....
Thought I heard the door open at stupid o'clock and thought, hello! Turned out his mum ( mid 50s?)had decided to get into bed behind me...won't describe the rest but she then stood over me smoking a cigarette before leaving....haunted me for a good few weeks that!

Seriously?! He was joking about his 15 y/o self. You don't need to point out that a group of 45-6 y/o men hanging around a secondary school to pick up girls would be less funny. FFS man!

Just so that we can be clear on your position. If the boy had been a few months older and 16 and she was a 30 year old neighbour, rather than his teacher, would you still see that as grooming and abuse?
Well, if that neighbour has known that kid for a number of years, built up a friendship with them and then fked them once they were 16, then that's the very definition of grooming...
That seems like you are adding details I didn’t postulate to make sure it fits into a definition of grooming. Assume they are new neighbours.

How do you view Kevin Kilne and Phoebe Cates? I think she was only 20 and he was a lot older…but 35 years later they are still together.

Age gap relationships are a minefield.

And your thing was trying to be crafted to fit in to something that is legal but creepy. Regardless, neither of these situations happened and all this is irrelevant to the question of a teacher grooming two 15 year old boys.

I'm not sure this hypothetical 30yr old woman who immediately seeks out sex from the 16yr old son of her new neighbours is quite the flex he thinks it is. Maybe her having to move somewhere new is a result of similar predatory behaviour at her previous address? Can we be sure she isn't already on the register?

Extraordinary, isn't it. The very definition of heat without light.

Almost as extraordinary is the fact that a bunch of grown men (yes, I assume mostly men) have spent a significant portion of a glorious weekend grandstanding and happy slapping each other on the Internet. Really chaps, you need to get out more.

This thread is a real eye opener. Some incredible posts. I am embarrassed and saddened that so many still don't understand what constitutes abuse. One poster claimed rape must be violent and forceful by its nature. These people might sit on a jury one day. Or might have kids themselves. This is the darkest day in my time on this sometimes divisive forum and it will be my last. Thanks for the wake up call.
I hope you change your mind about leaving. You are one of the posters with interesting things to say. You could just avoid certain subjects - I avoid (usually) cycling related threads because I get so wound up by the anti cyclist nonsense.
That's all really.

The second lad contacted her. Do you think that was out of the goodness of his heart or the knowledge that she would respond to the attention? An ulterior motive if you like.

Obviously she shouldn't have responded by having any sort of relationship with him, but he knew what he was doing.

I doubt his life is as fked as hers right now.

Right, I'm bowing out of the thread on this note. I am certainly not victim blaming, that's utter tosh. The word 'victim' was put in quotes, as none of us know if he were coerced by her, if he pursued he, or if he was a equal willing participant enjoying the action. Yes, she has committed a crime, as I've said numerous times, she's a wrong un.
This is the defense the 20yr old rapist tried to use after raping my sister. She was 12.

Give your fking head a wobble
No, this was a 15 year old, randy boy, who was definitely enjoying life, you need to give your fking head a wobble.
Is the one that's a father now enjoying life you weird nonce apologist?
You ignorant idiot, why am I a nonce apologist? I think what she did was wrong. You are comparing two totally different situations.

The fact that he became a father as a result, at the age of 15, would suggest otherwise.

So this 30yr old woman moves in to her new house and doesnt hesitate to have sex with a 16yr old that lives next door?

That's the scenario you're going with?
So, by the rules that people on here have been talking about, what is wrong with that? Why was it OK for Macron's former teacher, now his wife, to have sex with him when he was 15, when it was NOT legal in France (the law was changed in 2021).
I cannot believe the double standards on this forum.
I was working at 16, there were quite a few 30 year old women I fancied.

Where do I start with this post?
Seriously?
You are sick, you have a very overactive (not in a good way) imagination.
