These two were for more restrained , a far more pleasant experience, yes the odd mistake but not the endless pointless drivel,
Schiff just spouts stupid inane comments and questions, she was todays weak spot
My wife's a basically an F1 encyclopedia, has lots of Twitter people on her follows. Apparently the DtS lot didn't like the commentary today because it was too 'boring'. We both enjoyed it more than the usual Crofty much ado about nothing experience. Nice to have some calm analysis instead of getting excited because someone's wearing a new logo or something. I took enjoyed the commentary, enthusiastic but restrained. Interestingly, I was looking at a few random F1 vids on YouTube recently and looked at the comments. Overwhelmingly the comments around Croft's commentary were positive, about how he injects so much excitement into proceedings etc. I think a lot of them might be American, which would tie in with the DTS vibe and audience and why F1 keep him in there.
I don't have an issue with him but the way, he's probably a nice bloke, just some bit of commentary irritates me for forced excitement when there isn't any.

Just mute Croft and listen the 5 Live for future races. It's what many people have been doing for years.
There was a time I used to listen to 5Live with Crofty & Maurice Hamilton than having to put up with The Cock & Brundle. How times have changed.
I do think there's greater pressure to elevate your commentary style for F1 / TV than for radio and support series, be it whether from the producers and / or awareness that you have a much larger audience to serve.

I enjoyed Harrys commentary today, I especially enjoyed the ‘my west end career finished in the same manner yourF1 career’ quip, genuinely funny
This cracked me up as well - Karun seems like the kind of guy to take it in jest unlike some of the media personalities we have nowadays. Agree withb all the comments above. Really refreshing to focus on the race rather than waiting for Shouty's inane comments and meaningless stats. The Norris/Max last few laps were gripping,so it was nice that the commentary was controlled but enthusiastic. Can you image Shouty with his screams of "He's catching, catching, catching, oh no he can't get him at this corner"!!
