A small mention also for Verstappen and his team winning their 24 hour sim race this weekend. Not a bad effort in between sessions driving an F1 car
It's remarkable the lengths MV goes to.

That’s totally mad, but fair play, it’s also funny that he spent his evening driving a sim rig for the hell of it.

James Hunt would want to know why he wasn’t chasing pussy in Bologna last night, but each to himself.

I don't think Hunt had to chase.

Excellent end to the race, and great to see Lando right up there again. Piastri 14 seconds adrift though, again showing that he’s nowhere near as good in the race as he is over one lap.
rolleyes

Started 5th and finished 4th on a track which is very difficult to pass on.

I would not rush to come to that conclusion.
Agreed. The lad is still learning his trade (and some tracks), he’s one for the future imo.
It’s a pattern though. I like the lad, but he was hailed as the second coming, but hasn’t lived up to that billing yet. He’s consistently a long way off Lando’s pace in the races.

Indeed - nothing contentious happened all race so there is only nonsense to chat about now it's over.

Roll on Monaco smile
The usual suspects are coming out of the woodwork now, I reported cart16, let's see if the mods think we don't need him here
Mods, please?
clap
Agree, 100%.
We've had a good discussion this week. We've potential PH Goat M1K3 offering a spare paddock pass for free, on the back of a McLaren win and the pack looking closer than ever, all on a classic circuit at the anniversary of Senna's death.
Yet the usual immature tts decide that now is the time to wind everyone up with the usual puerile garbage.

It's ..depressing.

Maybe if the mods could tear themselves away from removing spam 'call girl' posts from the site, they'd be able to actually moderate the st that pollutes the long term threads.

This corner of PH has evolved to be a really great place to discuss F1. I wouldn't want to watch a race and not be discussing it on the race thread these days, it's great to watch together.

The tribal morons/trolls need to be booted - it's rare to find a generally reasonable corner of the internet, they can ps off to Reddit or YT if they want to waste words posting crap.

ETA: and a very wonderful thing for M1K3 to give a spare pass away on here, how awesome is that smile

The community should be self moderating. You don't have to respond to someone you believe is only trying to get a rise. If you do, it makes you as bad as them.

Please point out the crap.

Hamilton is not a deity.
Can someone try and find one of his posts that isn't crap?

To be fair, piastri so far hasn't been on norris' pace in races but again, one could reasonably argue that Norris has been doing a really good job as well. Piastri has rightly been getting quite a lot of kudos for doing pretty well but if his teammate is driving out of his skin, it's a little bit harsh to be expecting Piastri to come into Mclaren and smack Norris as well...

Indeed, there is no need to respond to these (insert description of choice) here or on any other part of PH. It's disappointing because on occasion it's clear that some have interesting insights or experience to share.

Ph should allow us to mute other users, its been requested over the years but I don't think they invest as much back in as they should and thus its not happened. Most forums allow that.

It was nice to see some closer racing near the top today. Max had to earn it and did well, its also great to see others coming forwards.

Monaco is usually a procession but I don't have too much of an issue with it. It's a spectacle and from driving it on the computer games, it's very impressive to go hard round there fast and not bin it for a whole race let alone a lap! I still haven't been to Monaco I really should do that.

He qualified 2nd
He did outperform lando in qualifying. But then had a 3 place penalty.

This isn't for this thread really, but Seb is a totally different person since he left Red Bull isn't he? Do you think the same will happen to Max?
What's wrong with Max?
Nothing, he’s absolutely fantastic. The loveliest, nicest person ever to be in F1 ever. EVER!!!
I spent a full race weekend (Thursday-Sunday) in the same tent when he was 14, he was a really nice kid back then and people who met him recently said he didn't change.

I think he has many detractors in the UK because he doesn't fake on interviews just like Lulu.
You think too much.

Is there anywhere to obtain the lap by lap times for each driver to compare?

Don't forget that last race Lando was running all of the latest upgrades and only won because he had a spot of good fortune with the safety car. Otherwise piastri would have finished ahead of him iirc.
