My brake servo started sucking air yesterday and the brake pedal lost assistance, so guessing the diaphram has failed.

I presume the servo is the TR6 unit but can anyone confirm or otherwise. My Vixen is a late S3.

Hi

John Upham lists the servo as:

Servo or Spitfire mk.4/1500, LG 64068822 S2/3/4
``Supervac'' TR6

The part number doesn't seem to be correct and brings up a TR5 / TR6 master cylinder but I guess the source for the brake servo TR6 or Spitfire MK4/1500 may be correct..

I bought a TR6 brake servo from Moss for my S3 Vixen rebuild, based on the same info as offered here and it matched the removed original and all fitted up OK.
I also followed advice seen elsewhere, cutting a new plastic kitchen chopping board down to replace the original spacer made which had been made from chipboard and will obviously stand the test of time much better.

Thanks for the info.

I've ordered the TR6 unit (P/N 218072) so fingers crossed will fit OK. I don't have a spacer fitted currently so shouldn't need to put one in.

I'll post next week to confirm whether this P/N is correct so PH'ers can reference it for the future.

Yes this is the correct P/N for a replacement servo from a TR6.

A straight forward swap and all working OK again.

The only real challenge was undo'ing one of the 4 nuts behind the foot pedals as access was so tight and the arc of the spanner extremely limited.

FWIW the unit I purchased was from a Triumph specialist TD Fitchett. They have a small number of brand new 'old stock' units which I understand to be original items rather than repro's.
