No way. In this case you're entirely wrong, JAYB.
Fair play to TVR1; the photo and the 'list' absolutely place you at 'living the dream' status for 1988
Not sure, depends whether it was Next high street or Next DirectoryFair play to TVR1; the photo and the 'list' absolutely place you at 'living the dream' status for 1988

Cool things were way more cool than they are today.
Take a trip to American Classics at the bottom of the Kings Road as a case in point. Throw in a bandana, vintage MA1 flying jacket and a pair of cowboy boots from R Soles and well......... does it no justice at all
Pretty sure this is still the same lot

I’ve still got those 501’s and well let’s just say it was a bit depressing wondering how they ever fitted.
For a night out the Buzz Bar just of Leicester Square provided all the action any eighteen year old could ever handle.

For me, favourite clothes shopping haunt was Kensington Market, with a bit of Camden Market and Notting Hill/Ladbroke Grove thrown in for good measure.Take a trip to American Classics at the bottom of the Kings Road as a case in point. Anyway, for your added viewing pleasure... 1985, button down short sleeve shirt, chinos and deck shoes. Oh and the obligatory 302 before restrictions.
1986 IIRC Ray Bans, on the island in Greece, doing my Daniel Craig impression!

Hyper Hyper was the Selfridges of indie clothing. Were you a bit 'Sonic Boom Boy'?

Seem to recall going to a really cool shop on Kensington High Street called Hyper Hyper just over the road from the market?
Hyper Hyper was a pale shadow of Ken Market, and opened 1990-ish I think. There's a Facebook group for all the people who used to hang out at Ken Market - it was quite an institution, a sort of extremely condensed version of Camden now. I remember buying a particularly nicely made leather whip there and thinking how alternative I was - blissfully unaware of the underground clubs that were running at the time.V8mate said:

Hyper Hyper, trouble is it seems so long ago. Just sent a text sent to girlfriend at the time to see what she can remember seeing as it was her that took me thereHyper Hyper was the Selfridges of indie clothing. Were you a bit 'Sonic Boom Boy'?
Camden Market was great, Dingwalls on a Saturday night and I think it’s still alive and well
Sonic Boom Boy, of course but I’ll own up to some Zig Zig Sputnik as well
