Looking at going on a break to Barbados.

Can anyone recommend a nice place to stay over there and is there any places which are great value for money at the moment ?

Thanks

West Coast is nice, but probably not cheap. The South is usually cheaper. The weakness of Sterling to the US$ has made it much more expensive recently. Nice place though.

TripAdvisor has loads of info.

The hotels around St Lawrence Gap tend to offer good value for money compared to the ones on the west coast.
You can get some real good prices if you look at self catering apartments in this area.

Thanks Guys for the info.

There seems to be so many offers - just wondering where to look for the best prices ?

We just came back from the Sugar Cane Club. Heaven on earth and all inclusive.

Barbados Beach Club.

Right on the beach.

All inclusive.

Cheap.

Done.

4* hotels need to be looking at the 'Almond' chain.

We stayed at the Crystal cove in Holetown, it was an good 3/4 star AI, bit shabby around the edges but had a lovelly 2 weeks there. It was circa £1200 each inc flights this time last year, so nice and cheap too. Loads of really nice places on the west coast. Depending on your budget I would have a look at Sandy Lane, went for a meal there and looked really plush. If you can hold off a while, the prices drop early summer, but make sure you go before hurricane season. I found the best price with www.bestattravel.com much cheaper than anywhere else and actually a bit cheaper than booking myself.

Dont stay on the south coast, its a bit benidorm....

I met a girl once, she was so hot. In fact if she was a Caribbean island she would be called Barbabos.

if you're other half is crew, are you going on standby? ie, only a couple of days? or are you there for a week or so? The Cliff used to be nice, amazing setting, but is expensive now, I'll check where we went last year, do you have a budget? any style you like?

Champers is nice, good cocktails, Bellini's is nice - Italian style food, Daphne's is nice but pricey, Mango's was ok if I remember rightly, I'll keep digging

We will probably pay the 10% to go club (if available on the day) and get a guaranteed booking.
Looking at ideally 10 days.
Budget appx £1,000 each person and just seeking a nice place to relax that is secure.

Thanks Boozy (-:

personally I wouldn't go all-inclusive, there are so many great restaurants on the west coast that you'll miss out if you're stuck with eating in the hotel

We stay at the Crane which is really nice and they've finished the building work I think, very peaceful and a lovely beach. (added some restaurants up there too)

Treasure Beach Hotel. Hibiscus Suite.

Stayed there last December and it was very pleasant.

Stick with St James on the West Coast, St Lawrence gap is a bit... not as good. East coast is rugged and quiet but no good for swimming!

Visit Concorde Museum, and go diving. Some of the plantation houses are lovely as well.
