I got my Chimaera back from the garage yesterday so have experienced my first driving weekend with a Tiv and I am astonished by the way others respond to it.
A Ferrari driver waved at me.
A young boy (10 or 11 years old) started shouting 'it's a tvr, it's a tvr' all excitedly as I drove past.
Then a couple in a Cotswold village took out their camera and smiled as they photographed me as I drove past.
I don't get any of that when driving my daily BMW.
I guess this was an exceptional day but it was very nice none the less.

The British public seem to have a huge love for our cars. I've never had a bad reaction from anyone while out in any of mine over the years.
Best ever reaction though was on the way back from last years BNG. I'm still of a paranoid state of mind and have yet to get used to it, it takes me a second to realise people are looking because TVR!
I slowed down earlier today to have a look at a lovely old roller that I was overtaking on a dual carriageway, the driver looked over at me and gave me a smile and thumbs up. Never got that in the Audi

Pretty much every time I drive my Cerb I get similar reactions.. Had some old chap egging me on to give it beans from his garden was one of my favourite.
A couple of weeks ago I was filling up the Sag at a petrol station and a truck driver came across and said 'I'll be winding the window down and waiting for you to go past in a few minutes, make sure you give it some beans'. Saturday I was parked in a nice empty area of the local supermarket car park. On my way back to my Tuscan a brand new (still had some cling film on and trade plates) F type Jag pulled up next to me. Firstly why do people do that there was loads of space! Out pops the driver and first thing he says was "so there is one still running".
Ha ha so funny let's see your jag in twelve years! But I have to tell you nice as the F type was it looked huge in comparison to the TiV and not very special at all. Boxy and huge doors just dull. I was so proud of my TiV , it out shone a brand new jag supposedly the new e type, by a mile!

Mine brings the neighbours out talking. I was anxious at first but the men all seem to like it, despite my initial assumptions that being diesel drivers and on the upper side of middle aged that they may not appreciate the noise.

Got approached by a chap in a car park Saturday who spent a while chatting, I was in the Cerb and he said Portfield talked him out of one in 1998 but talked him in to a Chimaera 500.
Always nice to meet (ex)owners, then when I fired it up made some old girl jump out her skin who was some fair distance away
Never had negative comments in either of them, as said - the public do seem to love them.

Totally agree, had a rider on a super bike pull up next to me this pm wave frantically and give it the thumbs up. There's always a smile when you drive past pretty much anyone!
Had the same going up to Silverstone last Friday week for the DTEC races.Travelling up the A34, saw bike in my mirror, I couldn't make any more progress in outside lane, so I pulled over. Rider gave me a massive thumbs-up (yes It was a thumb!!) as he went by.

As I was coming out from lunch at a nice quite pub, an old chap sat next to the door asked me if the TVR was mine , he then went onto to tell me his nephew had owned one years back & more about the Cerbera than I knew !
As we started the engine he & a few others came out & sat at the tables to listen & waved us goodbye...brilliant!

We were having lunch at the Anglesey Arms near Goodwood - the barman came up to our table and said he knew the TVR was ours as we were the only people in who weren't locals. We had a good chat about them and he said for us to make sure we let him know when we left as he wanted to come outside and listen. Which of course we did, the old boy stood outside in the pouring rain getting soaked just to hear us rumble off - true fan!yup. Even my "little" 2.8v6 tasmin has the folk smiling pointing thumbs up. All except the 5 girls under 6 yrs old ( 2 are mine) in my street who scream whenever i start it up. Still a wee rev drowns them out! Although to be fair the noise is probably exagerated to their little ears as two of the other daddies drive something called a "prius"!

On the way to Cheddar with the Hampshire crew, we came to a small quiet village early on a Sunday morning. Two old biddies standing on the pavement chatting. Thinking they were going to have heart failure as we rumbled through and that they may be slightly peeved but no; waving smiling - not the reaction that I thought or expected
