All I want is a bright red 993 preferably convertible and tip.

I have seen 1 advertised in 3 years, is that it, or is that spec the most desirable of all 993's.

Alternately a 996 gt3 mk2 but this time with comfortable seats.

Thank you for reading.

There aren't many red 993's purely due to trends at that time.

Guards red died with the 964 and 944 but is slowly coming back!

If you chase the perfect colour you are likely to get a car with issues. just my thoughts.

Because by the time the 993 was launched in 1994, almost every previous 1989-1994 - 964 had been built in Grand Prix White or Guards Red and everyone was SICK OF IT. Therefore, Guards Red 993s are rarer than a non-white 997 GTS. In future years a 997 GTS in anything BUT white will be worth a fortune smile

I thought as much re the colour, and you are right that the colour, although the driving force is probably the wrong place to start and that "the car" should be the best available at the time for the price, that's how my last porsche came to be yellow.

Now where are my clippers, would sir like a no 1 or a number 2?

ps Sorry but the red gt3 is a bit smaller than I was looking for, obviously if you chase a colour you are likely to end up with a car with issues good point well proved.

I know of three guards red 993s, a c2, a targa and a crashed RS. Not sure where the RS is now but it appeared on here about a year ago. See the other two regularly. Non are tips though.

Don't know any guards 996s other than GT3 but know a couple of 997 and boxsters and caymans. Don't know a 991 yet.

Generally though it seems that the rarer cars aren't really that rare. How many models over the years are in the order of 1500 examples world wide and yet you know a couple of them.

Ah yes, the other is a cab and the third one is a .2, so only one in the end. Still, I was impressed that there are guards red 996s on sale.

It does say 3347 in the details though.

Odd that someone's back-dated just the rear lights to ambers.

Like this dreadful one you mean !! A tip cab who would have thought it ( actually its lovely !!) prefer it to my old 993 manual cab.

This ones only here for a short time though, bought to fill a short term gap, it is my 10th 911 and the previous owner spent about £4k on it over the last 1,000 miles, still needs a few bits and bobs doing but goes like a dream.

Wow! I've never seen such a big flower in my life! It's almost the size of the car's tyres!
