Those who refer to people who can spell as "grammar nerds" or "spelling nazis" and become very aggressive about what is essentially their sub-standard education or inability to learn in school.

It's stuff we were taught between the ages of 5 and 11.
I, genuinely, think some people should start paying the government back if they waste their 'free' 11 year education.
Everyone is not created equal. Some will struggle with English throughout their lives, not through lack of effort.
Getting all sniffy about it only makes someone feel more uncomfortable about their failings.
This does not apply to intentional laziness though, but then you should give people the benefit of the doubt shouldn't you?
As I said, people who become aggressive when they are wrong / mistaken etc

Sadly, it's the superior attitude shining through.
Aggression? You have my assurance there is no hint of aggression. I merely feel pity- if your free time is best spent picking out grammatical errors, written by complete strangers on an internet forum, I pity you. Your wife. Your children. Your complete, dreary, needy, existence. Bask in your superiority complex by all means- just remember that the vast majority view you on your lofty perch and think c***. No hint of aggression, merely sympathy that a life can be wasted on such a trivial matter.
I think you might be somewhat overstating the effort that people who correct the spelling mistakes of others are putting into it.
Potentially, yes, but when faced with comments such as ' I genuinely think that some people should start paying the government back.......' over a missed apostrophe or a spelling mistake, my conclusions remain as above.

Then we are both content (only I don't appear to be as I'm not prone to 'lol')

Sometimes the moderation could be better, sometimes it is spot-on, sometimes it is a bit heavy-handed.
Annoys me that moderators aren't identified, yet like to to use the Royal "we" at every opportunity.

I agree.

Mods should be highlighted.

The total Chris Harris fanboyism
+1. His OK but if anyone dares criticize him, you get jumped on by other posters. Also why does every CH video have posters saying 'better than Top Gear', 'CH should have his own TV show' etc. His R8 VS GT-R VS 911 video IMO was st.

There's an example in this thread but I'm not quoting it as I don't want to attack any one person:

People who post solely to express disapproval at the thread's existence.

If you don't like it, don't post.

We're all anonymous here so no one cares if individual posters don't like a particular subject. It may have been done before but maybe everyone hasn't been here for ten years and posted 50,000 times.

With you on that. Thread that are obviously about a certain subject, and then people appear in order to tell you that they are not interested in said subject...

Well, leave. hehe

I've got to admit I've never encountered or witnessed any mod issues at all, in fact I still don't even know who the mods are on here other than Garlick, who was massively helpful when I was stitched up after buying a £30k Porsche which blew up into a million peices (he won't remember). Normally mods on forums stick out like a sore thumb as the are usually the biggest trolls of all, but I can honestly say I'm oblivious to it all on here.

People who say 'search is your friend' when to anyone, especially new posters when it mostly doesn't work anyway.

Tablet not having a clickable arrow for the next page of a thread leading to landing on wrong page or ad.

Banal replies to threads for the sake of upping post count.

People who say with glee 'get some lube' when someone has been done for speeding on the motorway at say 101 mph... No one is going to prison they will get a few points or a short ban...not anally intruded, although many posters seem more than happy to conjure up this own image in their mind for their own gratification.

'Legal' experts who have never been near a court or law book posting on every single thread in SP&L

In a similar vein, there's this sort of thing, person starts thread moaning about receiving a marketing email when he has asked the firm not to send him any, and at least two people have found it worth the effort to post and tell him to find something else to worry about--

Exactly this.

So much fuss over a single email. I can see it being a problem if you were receiving 2 - 3 emails a day, but a random email just to remind you that you could possibly get more from your subscription?

People's opinion in other words then. You either like him or you don't.

In that case, we (yes, we, I'm one of them) are doing our jobs properly.
Do we need to be highlighted? No, what would that achieve.
If there's an issue with inconsistency, then let us know, either report a post or mail Garlick.

Just read all of this and don't think this has been mentioned.

People who quote a whole stack of pictures for no reason whatsoever.

Just to +1 them or say nice motor......
