I really hope he does keep up the performances as if he can beat Rossi in the title race this season then he must get a good ride for the following season. I do worry though how much he has upset Herve recently.
Is it Herve or Yamaha?Rumour is Yamaha have signed Espargaro and basically told Tech3 that he will be on their bike.

Even made a barbed comment in his post race interviews about not being offered a deal earlier!
I noticed that as well. I know he's got a dry, tongue in cheek sense of humour (and I like him all the more for it) but that must make him a less attractive prospect in today's media savvy environment!Comments of that type loose all their humour when quoted in writing the following morning!

I can think of three reasons
Because he only wanted a one year contract to keep his options of a full factory ride open.
Because he was ready to leave Tech3 and go to Ducati if they hadn't pulled out of the deal.
Because he has been critical of the bike and Yamaha.
If he keeps up these performances it will make it a very difficult decision not to offer him another contract
Great post and even better name Because he only wanted a one year contract to keep his options of a full factory ride open.

Because he has been critical of the bike and Yamaha.

I love watching Cal. Unlike most Brits, he has been able to compete at the front in this blue riband class. And I find his character refreshing.

Well that's just it - he is obviously a very capable rider and has shown he is capable of great self improvement, but doesn't do himself any favours by shooting from the hip.Comments of that type loose all their humour when quoted in writing the following morning!

Same goes for me. Cal has shown that he is a highly credible competitor in the blue riband series, unlike many who've made the transition from World Superbikes. It would be a travesty if he didn't have a competitive ride next year. Vocal Minority said:

Personally I think he is just what Moto gp needs. Otherwise its turning into the same corporate rubbish that F1 is these days with the exception of Raikonen. Speaking of what MotoGP needs, I have a small fear of it losing some of it's appeal in the not so distant future.
We have the BBC & EuroSport losing the rights to BT Sport, who knows what on/off track coverage they will provide.
We seem to have a growing number of Spanish riders potentially lined up for big rides.
If we lost Cal & Rossi we aren't left with an abundance of other nationality riders, potentially not great for long term sponsorship?
I hope i'm wide of the mark but it's a little thing niggling away.

I have said before, however, how I don't get the whole Raikonnen thing. People seem to fall over themselves because he is rude to journalists, but each to their own I suppose.

Yep. Just because he isn't a corporate wossname, doesn't make what he is any more worthy in my book. But that's just my standpoint. I find their approches refreshing and much like the everyday person.
ANYWAY, we are dragging this off topic!

Pedrosa is world champ material. This year should be his as he is looking the complete package. But next year I can't see anyone beating mm93.
The day Pedrosa is champ is when he breaks the habit of falling off his bike and/or Hayden-esque extenuating circumstances.Winning races is one theing, winning championships is another.
