What do we mean by Marriage? Are we talking only about Christian Marriages? Civil Marriages? Or other Religions too?
UH-OH

Can of worms being opened!!

We're talking about the case against gay marriage - which is going to cause fluffy kittens to go blind - please do not try to hijack the thread by talking about religious marriages.
Ok, so we're just saying that Gay couples can have a Civil Marriage at a Registry Office? But we're not talking about 'forcing' any religions to hold Religious Marriage ceremonies for Gay couples if they don't want to? Is that right?
Gay marriage is about to be made compulsory for everyone.
Heterosexuality is to be banned and Religious people will be forced to wear fuschia onesies.

Thought the priests would approve. Oh sorry that is pidaphillia. although I'm sure I once heard a priest on newsnight or some such program me try and claim one led to the other or some such nonsense.

I agree it shouldn't have taken this long to sort out. We can't pretend 'the gays' don't exist, or that they're all roaming aggressive bummers who move from partner to partner on a nightly basis whether they want to or not.

Although I don't agree that any of the religions should be forced to perform same sex marriages if they don't want to, they shouldn't but into other peoples lives either.

But not as his bride, right? I think that's still on the banned list.

How dare you!?

Groom actually.

Sure it's still banned? I've been using the illegal excuse for months.

I went to a gay wedding once, it was rubbish. Nowhere near John Inman enough. They should only legalise gay weddings if they are properly camp and over the top.

I'm waiting for the first lesbian divorce. During my divorce the courts took great delight in extracting vast amounts of money from me via my lower colon purely because I had testicles and she had ovaries. Confronted by two people who are both women the courts are going to explode smile

Actually the best case against it is the parliamentary time this total non issue is taking up, as it stops them interfering in more important things. I wish Blair and Brown had spent more time on trivia and less wrecking the place.

Norman Tebbit has said it's dangerous because it coincides with scrapping automatic male succession to the throne.

So, he says, we could get a lesbian queen who marries her girlfriend and then they have a baby via an anonymous sperm donor who then becomes the monarch upon her mother's death.

And that folks, is the best he come up with!!!

I have a solution Norman.....fk off and die! Then you won't have to witness such an event.
I'm not sure what the bigoted fool thinks prevents a lesbian queen having a turkey baster child under the current law?

If Gay or Lesbian people want to be as miserable as the rest of us, then let them get married.

ISTR in Iran if you're caught having sex with an animal then you have to marry it or you'll get stoned to death, so here's a site for you:

Remember to pack your cat.

It's hard to GAF, but does anyone know how the new law will define consummation in a gay marriage? Marriages can currently be annulled on the ground of non-consumation (which is clearly, unambiguously and explicitly defined in law).

And while we're at it, what's the definition of adultery?
