If we are doing TV, anyone remember the utterly 'pants scaring when you are a young kid' Chimera? It was on ITV, and the full TV series, and the freaky little baddy was proper scary.

I remember that! Was very scary. Was Charles Dance one of the main characters?

ETA Just looked it up and no Charles but anyhow, I still remember it as being very good.

You're probably thinking of Charles Dance in First Born, the human born to a Gorilla series.

Sunshine

Have we had "Screamers", almost definately.

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. (Wilma Deering or Princess Ardala?)

The oiginal Andromeda Strain.

2 creepy crawlie ones. One where, I think inteligent ants were attacking a scientific project in the desert, and one where there are fire making bugs in small town America?

Not Walkabout. I think that would make me Paedo-Toad.

American Werewolf? Oh Mamma...

Phase IV - haven't seen that in years!
Well played, I'm on the hunt. Apparently they could spell intelligent as well, I don't stand a chance.

IMDB to the rescue and in the recommended "others like" bit "Demon Seed" was a goodie.

A boy and his dog.

The Martian Chronicles, book is hugely better though.
Both excellent.

The andromeda strain. Original 70s not the remake just awesome

The quiet earth. Low budget great idea.

The cube , low budget and great

Sunshine possibly heard of it but seems to have passed a lot by. Cracking score and visuals

Iceman very well done, draws you in.

Brainstorm - The ability to replay someones mind. It would look fantastic now as a HD / 3D film.

...And 1984's Dreamscape, with Dennis Quade and Kate Capshaw.

(I remember that one well because the baddie was also the leader in the baddie gang in The Warriors...)

As per the What Films/TV thread I'm watching - with horror - District 9 - just re-starting on Ch4+1

Probably the most disturbing film this side of The Road I've ever seen. So realistic despite seeming so unrealistic. If Aesop did horror!

Very, very good but not nice.

Has anyone mentioned The Hidden. An everyday tale of a body snatching alien with a love of Ferarris and automatic weapons.

The Mist was quite good, inspired one of the creatures from Half-Life I believe.

I thought that had the making of a very good TV series. It felt very much like a pilot. Good film though, I liked it.
