Epic Games Store free game

Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! is currently free on the Epic Games store from now until 14-Feb-24
I already own the original Doki Doki Literature Club and it is a delightfully subversive absolute head fk.
It starts out purporting to be your typical Japanese dating sim (albeit with a rather dire disclaimer at the beginning), and thereafter initially lulls you into a false sense of security and you begin to wonder if the disclaimer was a joke. Then it fks with your head. And does so repeatedly. And then does so some more.
The "Plus!" version apparently gives some extra side stories outside of the main timeline and also alters the main story in some way. I would strongly suggest playing the original version (which is included) first though.

Deux Ex: Mankind Divided is currently free.
This seems to be the original base game without the "Missing Link" DLC, which in the Director's Cut is integrated into the storyline.
Without spoiling anything, at one point in the story the protagonist goes into a stasis for a while and then... fade out... fade in... wakes up later. The DLC fills in in what happened in that time. And in the Director's Cut it is stitched together.
However, you can quite happily play the base game without the DLC. I did originally; I own the original, the DLC, and then picked up the Director's Cut in a sale later.
I must have put hundreds of hours into this game over many playthroughs and and it is one of those essential games if you have any interest in Cyberpunk.
If you don't already own it, go grab it.

Amazing game, as are all but one in the franchise. This seems to be the original base game without the "Missing Link" DLC, which in the Director's Cut is integrated into the storyline.

Worth playing Deus Ex Human Revolution prior to this though, as MD follows on the story from HR.

Dammit, I got my games muddled up. Worth playing Deus Ex Human Revolution prior to this though, as MD follows on the story from HR.
Everything I said in my post refers to Human Revolution not Mankind Divided.
Yes, I agree that one should play Human Revolution first.
Actually, on reflection, I wouldn't say you *had* to have played Human Revolution first. I guess you could play Mankind Divided blind and just accept that the protagonist is a heavily augmented cyborg who is now working for a government organisation.
Really the first game is how he got to that point, and why things are as they are in Mankind Divided. So I guess it is more backstory than essential play.
