I just picked up an AMG GTS after being without a fun road car since I sold the Ultima 2.5 years ago. Feels good to be back! Makes some dirty, dirty noises

I had sleepless nights worrying over the colour choice, I hadn't seen one either until collection day, its the best colour in my opinion, and obviously faster being red smile

I saw one just after Kielder today, same colour, I looked into the car as I passed on my motorcycle.

Got a bit carried away with buying a sensible second car to replace our Golf GTi. It does have 4wd though and the kids do fit in the back so it's all good...

Looks quite sensible to me smile I'm trying to decide if I'm brave enough to enter the poverty pork scene, albeit in the form of a 986.

Poverty pork presumably because that is likely to be the end result for any owner regardless of where they start! But that said, the 986 has looked like a serious bargain for years. At least in terms of purchase price.

I *think* I bought a good 996 but even so, these things are 20+ years old so I have a long list of niggly things to sort. Some parts from Porsche themselves are surprisingly cheap. Some are hilarious multiples more than you're expecting. This one hadn't been used much in the last few years so it's unlikely the previous owner knew that the coil packs were starting to crack but I found out fairly quickly when I stuck a pressure washer under the car. Oops. That's the first £250 in maintenance already spent. Plenty more to come no doubt!

Thanks mate. Very pleased with it so far - goes like stink and flys under the radar, especially in silver. It's nice to blend in a bit after the Ultima!

Not new to me, but new to the North East. It’s being collected from Kent on Friday and transported up.
