Hi all
Not done a track day yet (although my car has!) and am keen to try and get along to this one cos it looks like cracking value. I assume that "trackday virgins" are welcome....?

Of course - plenty of room for all levels of experience

Also, I see from the notes on the 1st page that the sessions will be 30 or 60 mins long - how many sessions will we have on track through the day....?
Format is 30 mins on 30 mins off for the whole day - the cars attending for the day are split into two groups "A" and "B" This can revert to 60 min open pit lane format in the afternoons if things get a bit quieter
If the day stays as sessions reckon on 6/7 sessions per group over the whole day

As for track time. You will run out of petrol before you run out of time. We try to stick to 30 minute roll on roll off sessions and we usually open the pit lane in the afternoon ish.
Thats why I need to go fill up again at lunch time, I use a tank of fuel in the morning and another in the afternoon lol.I rely on some of the ABS breaking so I can buy their unused fuel
It's worked pretty much everytime

Reminder seeing as a small minority of people want to change the system that seems to be working quite well
I am co-ordinating the attendance on three forums across both days with a potential total of 170 entries - if everyone deviated from the process laid down in the post on page 1 - I'd be stuffed - not "mildly stuffed" or "a bit stuffed" but propper completely stuffed because I wouldn't know which way is up - if I lose that (trust me on this) things get really really pear shaped and I really really don't want that
So a little summary and some reasons
'
SEND ALL DETAILS BY EMAIL
It's like wearing sunsceen and a hat - should be common sense
on reciept of this email - I will reply with address to send cheque
I can tolerate a few "TBC" details and a follow up email with the missing information but I'd rather get it all in one email if posible please - if that means a couple of days delay then it's not a problem the event is no where near fully subscribed yet so it's not gonna make a heap of difference
IF you don't get a reply to the email within 3 days assume that I have not got your details - post up that something isn't right in this thread and we can sort something out - it may be my spam filter or it maybe something else either way we can fix it so don't panic
Why do I want details by email?
I copy and paste the details from your email into the spreadsheet as they are written - if you make a mistake that affects you entry into the event then it isn't my mistake - I have all the emails printed out as well as saved - this isn't because I want any mistakes to happen it's because you need to be responsible for providing correct and accurate details
there is a secondary reason for this - my typos are famous amoungst people that know me well - Famous NOT Infamous - they would be Infamous if half the attendees at then next Marham event were turned away because their details didn't match my typos - that would then result in a lynch mob with me the target for the noose - thanks but no thanks - I think we will stick with a process that doesn't require me to think or type information!!!!
If anyone wants to go a different route then I have some real simple advice - find another forum to attend with - please make sure it's one that I am not dealing with already - sorry but the process is clearly documented - just follow it that is all I ask.
if this seems like a rant it's not but I would like to ensure that everyone know exactly where I stand on this.
Apologies to two forum members who have equally blunt emails regarding this issue but it's not going to happen any other way than as detailed in page 1 - remember you only have to deal with your details - I have to deal with potentialy 170
Regards
Ian
