I’d appreciate an experienced view on some PPF work I’ve just had performed on one of my cars, whether my expectations are too high or not. It’s the first time I’ve commissioned PPF myself.

My new car had some old PPF on it, that whilst a neat job, had some marking and marring on it. I agreed with my Detailer to remove it and replace with new.

The old panels had a visible line, but at least was nicely cut with straight lines and nice radii, so although visible looked “considered”. In discussing the replacement film i asked if it would be “tucked” and was told yes. I thought it would be worth keeping the protection so agreed to go ahead.

Upon inspecting the car the lines are all hand cut and not straight edged, there are hand wobble lines on it, and it’s lifting around the shuts where pulled over and not taken over the corners.

A video here shows it;

So the question for you learned friends - is this a sensible/ good quality job and I’m being prissy, or do you think the job should be less visible / neater? I don’t want to cause a stink with my Detailer, but similarly I’d rather have just left the old stuff on / not have any, than have it look like this…. But am I just being irrational / unrealistic? All thoughts appreciated - thanks.
