It is. I saw one last year in France, but none for ages before that.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUpS1W2BIz4
Great cars (my colleague had a Safrane Turbo, it was brilliant) but every aspirational double breasted yuppie outside of France loved the Merc W124 and BMW 5 more.

Today I was out, no excuse, the weather was good, a bit sun and wind, so there I went, some nice road to that place, also went a big part through Germany and then again in the Netherlands again, I did not know my navigation would took me there, but no borders and about 10km shorter.
at one point I thought hey, these are not Dutch houses also many country houses, some live good away from big cities.
There was a oldtimer/youngtimer day in a small place called Klazienaveen, also with tractors and bikes and so on, at some big field, I did not stayed long and when I wanted to go back home, it became so busy that it was hard to get out... also many many people started to come in, say more tourist so parking on both ways of that small street, only one car could go through... but many happy faces I saw so it was good, I took 30 pictures of some cars, the first 10 I upload now, the next ten tomorrow etc.
Do you happen to nkow anything about that car ?at one point I thought hey, these are not Dutch houses also many country houses, some live good away from big cities.

It looked a little familiar so I checked and confirmed a friend built that over here 30ish years ago, used to be blue and white and had '37 Ford headlights. He sold it to a chap who drove it home to Germany in the late 90s.

My god, 155bhp! That must be the least desirable Ferrari ever made!for me such Ferrari model (those are nice) needs at least 300hp in my view, although personally I often think, hm, another engine and 450-550hp almost makes such classic a sleeper.
but then I think, ships, that engine lays transverse instead of my more favorable Longitudinal, I guess also easier to throw in a bigger engine and stronger gearbox.
but... nice to spot such Ferrari, they have a good friendly presence? on the road me thinks.
The 208 was launched in 1980 to duck under the 2.0 luxury tax threshold in Italy. It was actually the same engine as the 3.0 308 but sleeved down to be a 2.0. Carb fed as well, so a 2.0 V8 with 155 bhp, 130 mph top speed and 0-60 in just over 9 secs.
In 1982 Ferrari added a turbo to give it 220bhp, shrouded exhausts, extra cooling, the NACA ducts in the sills and some "Turbo" badges to give it some oomph.
Intended for the Italian market but also sold in Portugal and New Zealand

Sadly I think you’re probably right, although I think that accolade may be attributed to the 208GT4.Personally I see it in a different light, total amazement that Italian designers/engineers can extract so much from so little.
Power output for cars like the, Lancia Fulvia, Alfa Romeo Junior and Ferrari 208 GT4 etc. are just staggering.
They will of course appear and sound absolutely beautiful, while being equally exciting to drive.
I see it as cause for celebration; of engineering/design over officialdom.
