Is it going to be as boring and time consuming as last year?

Maybe it's time this activity was dropped (or at best, better organised) so that we can have more track time.

Yes James it does take up a lot of time why not make it more interesting by allowing other cars on the track at the same time?

Anti-clockwise too..

I agree. When the Zolder numbers were relatively small in the early days, it was a bit of fun to fill the day, but with over 100 TVRs there now, it does take up too much valuable track time.



PS Richard, how come you have time to post on here when there's still plenty to do to my car???

I agree. Given that the relay race is basically a social event with winners and losers being determined by the 'challenge' rather than speed on the track, it seems to me that they could just as easily hold it on the slalom course in the car park and free up the track.

Depends on whether it's ready in time and whether I can get it quiet enough for the 96dB noise level. If not, it'll be the 3000S again... with 3 fuel pumps!

I think Arthur knows that the Continental Meeting needs some new items and that the relay race is one of them.

Perhaps if they were to make it the very last event of the day, start at 4.00 pm and run it until the finish. Usually there are very few people left around by that time. Also if they limited folks to just one attempt at the other activities, not ten goes at the acceleration test for example!!
Whether Colin goes and gets there in the Tuscan will depend on the size of its tank and his ability to read the fuel gauge, thats right isn't it Richard?

If I get as far as fitting a fuel gauge this year, I'll be happy as it will be one of the last jobs!. Unlike Richard's car, mine is designed to have plenty of low-down torque so it will happily pootle along in 6th gear

Good point although I have just changed the cam on mine to make the thing a little more user frendly and once yours is done I think the pas may get fitted.

Do you think we can start the trackday at about that time too and hope that the noise guys have gone home.....that way I might be able to do one lap before being blackflagged with the silencers out! It's all your fault Tony, you should have sold me a car with a quiet exhaust all those years ago

Do't worry, we get the hint We have the same thinking about it. We can't tell yet the full in and outs but we are discussing a new sort of relay race. Think of Le Mans ??? It will be shorter and exciting. The only thing is the question if is too risky
Don't forget its a hell of a job for a crew from about 8 man, who has jobs from 9.00 till 9.00 to organise every year the Continental. But the like it and do it with much pleasure.
About free driving, every year I think I'am the only chap that is driving from about 17.15 till 18.00 ( the rest of the crew is packing, ha,ha ) and have none competition. Where is everybody, let's guess THE BAR ??

I'm normally out there to see the chequered flag too, although this generally means I drive home alone and either run out of fuel or get lost within the first 100 yards. I'll get it right one of these years!

Hi Hans. I am sure whatever you come up with, I will still very much enjoy myself, as I do every year. It's a brilliant few days and very well organised and staffed.

Err, I'm also normally out to the chequered flag end too.

the "delay-race"

it will be definitely changed the next CM 2005; it will be quicker and more attractive; and... it will not take that long time as it was the past four years; we had a meeting with the dutch club, so my source of info is relaible;

for myself; i like also more freedriving.

see you guys next june the 17 and 18th

Following the sale of the TVR 'Griffin', we will be returning to Zolder this year with the 1800S. I agree with Terminator that one anti-clockwise lap should sort the men from the boys !! - that's definately not in the Autosport Circuit Handbook.
