Heard a stat yesterday, if you get a 1st inns lead in WI, 70% chance you'll win the game.

So is today the day we get bowled out for 50 to lose by an innings?

Ever the optomist...

Think Leach might be a handful in the last innings, so let's hope we can get a 200 lead. Odds are on the draw now.

Oh ye of little faith. After both sides batting once we're 64 runs behind, with three days gone. All four results possible, with a draw favourite, evens on the win and a tie as unlikely as ever.

Better today, bit pedestrian on the scoring rate, but whatever, we don’t have a KP anymore to hit the accelerator.

Maybe Stokes can give it some smash later.

I'd want to be closer to 300 ahead at lunch before declaring.

Anyone know if any channels are showing highlights? I read on the Independent's website that BT Sport have the live coverage but that BBC are showing highlights them at the end of each day's play, but I've looked at the schedule for BBC1, 2 3 and 4 and nothing.

BT Sport website has a short free highlights package each day. I don't think any of the normal channels have anything. BBC don't even have TMS for this series.

WI need a RPO of over 4. Unless we go to pieces bowling, a draw is the only outcome imgo

There is irony in this being, IMO, just the sort of thing Jimmy and Broad would have relished.

I guess we can be thankful with a draw. Though I can guess what Root will be saying. Until we go to pieces again in the next bash.

Pitch looks dead, I doubt Jimmy would’ve got much out of it. Our bowling has been pretty toothless though.

Was well set up for a finish, but the pitch needed to break up a lot more to get a result.

Anyway, some good time in the middle, Hope Wood recovers well.

Not quite the right attack for England, but the batting looked a lot better with three tons, hard to argue with.

And there we have it. "A huge step forward".

fk off.

We just about managed a draw, and were only in that position down to Bairstow coming good as he does every so often. Against a side who aren't all that.

This side are nowhere near winning anything meaningful. Been saying it since the day he was selected, but Root needs to step away from the captaincy and focus on his batting.
