Hi All,

Not seen many UK spec DC2s sold recently. What a are prices on them these days? e.g. rot box / fair / good / A1 conditions? In about a years time these will be able to be shipped to US market.

Can anyone guide?

My Feb 1998 UKDM got an agreed valuation of £19k for insurance last April. Valuation lasts 2 years.

I think for the best you’re looking at £20k now maybe more for the very best examples.

There seems to be very few for sale lately, that can be said for the DC5 as well (good examples)

Have owned two ‘99 UKDM DC2’s and a DC5 - miss the DC2, an absolute firecracker. I sold both at the 8k mark 6/8 years ago.

I’d be looking at spending at least 15-20k in the hopeful knowledge the box arches don’t resemble a Rizla paper.

Jeez, to think I sold mine for something like £5k back in 2010. Was a wonderful car though so not surprised to see they're fetching decent money in todays climate.

I struggled to sell mine at 11k last year, glad it didn't sell now, I forgot how insanely good it was.

That’s a real surprise, not to insult but is it an example that needs work?

There really is a lack of good cars for sale and when they do come up they are snapped up.

Ive got a DC2 owed for 13 years or so - currently being restored away at the paint shop full respray as we speak. Just had inner and outer arches and new sills and part of the floor done. My car has a mugen plated diff and a Race DNA built engine - however I hardly drove it over the last few years - its like nothing else.

Amazing! What miles you got on your DC2?

Mine on 111k 99 spec. Never see any on the road these days. Might see another one at a PH meet.

Prices seem on a upward trend.

From what i understand they need to be over 24 years old to be imported into the US. They are crazy about them over there!

Mine few months back

No not really, not mint but rust free and in decent nick. The market for a 5 figure old honda is tiny though so even good cars can take time.

I have a champ white DC2 UKDM with only one previous owner, a chap who bought it in 98 as a retirement present to himself. It’s had a lot done to it bringing it up to a great standard and is a fantastic car to drive. The only “mod” is a full Fujitsubo exhaust and manifold - not silly loud, just a tasteful upgrade/replacement. You hardly ever see one on the road….

I'm hoping to get to the Pistonheads 25th.

Nice. Wales? It would definitely be good to get them together. Also, where did you get the rear mudguards from? Even if not original, something that would fit I think would be helpful.

There wont be any interest in UKDM DC2's in the states, they had their own version in way of the acura integra type r, why would they want our rot boxes.

It's JDM dc2's that are the hot ticket.
